Most people wouldn't even think of giving a hundred dollar bill to the nearest stranger, yet many people dig themselves thousands of dollars into debt just so they can satisfy their lover. I believe this is because when people make their lovers happy, they derive a sense of pleasure that is worth more than what they parted with to obtain it. This "love high" often causes people to perceive their lovers in an inaccurate, usually positive light, after all, one would never devote any significant effort to please someone that they didn't feel was worth the effort. I think love is your best friend and your worst enemy rolled into one. It's allowing yourself to become so emotionally attached to something it becomes hard to seperate with it.
I do think true love exists but I think people aren't willing to fight for it enough. I definitely know and believe love doesn't come easy and it comes when you least expect it
