WCG Ultimate Gamer has 12 gamers living in one loft. Each episode they would compete in a Real Life Challenge and in an Isolation Challenge. The Real Life Challenge complimented and provided a clue to the actual Xbox 360 game they were to play later in the Isolation challenge. For example, the players played paintball before playing Halo 3, had a dunk contest before playing NBA Live 09, and drifted cars before playing Project Gotham Racing 4. The gamer with the highest score from both challenges had the choice to pick one other gamer to play against the gamer with the lowest score in an Elimination Challenge where the loser goes home. The competitor with the highest score could also pick themselves to play the lowest scoring gamer, but this rule was discontinued in season 2. Sometimes the two gamers in the Elimination Challenge have to pick someone to partner with them in the challenge, but their partner is not at risk of going home.
so, i caught this show on syfy. when i first saw it i was like 'What? the fuck is this?' it's so random Real World meets idk. saw the whole episode and im not even sure what to of think it.

Sounds like a good idea on paper, but i dont think it was a good idea to be made into a show. Maybe just one episode or something. The main problem is because the viewers is not there, they cant feel the excitement/anxious-ness/intensity that comes from such a competition and would not watch due to boring or just watching to see nerdgasms lol

I think it was this show I saw an episode of a while back.
They all played DDR and then had a dance competition without the game.
There was also one with guitar hero, basketball and one with COD I think, or some other generic copy-game. The main idea was that some had played those games, some had not, some were more experienced with casuals and some with hardcore games, so it was a contest across all fields to see who was the most masterful of all.
Problem is most of their main demographic, gamers, would be off, you know, gaming. Games are fun when they are being played rather than being watched for long periods of time, let along watched in a series of episodes. If anything watching them play guitar hero just made me turn off the TV to go play it myself. Marketing ploy perhaps? Regardless I wouldnt think a show like that would go any more than maybe a single season. The only people watching would be gamers, and most would rather play those games than watch someone else play those games.
Then again, thats just me, maybe there are some people who enjoy watching games?
