On topic, art is a must, about as much as story, and that's pretty much it.

The most important thing for me is a good story to follow-up with the erotic sex scenes. The illustration and animation quality also counts

I've read through so many stupid generic ones that have next to nothing going for them.. Can deal with it sometimes, but the whole "same situations seen a million times before just with crappier artwork" aspect gets to you.

One with a good or entertaining story can make it that much more enjoyable.

H-Anime=Visuals.
I'm not much of a h-anime watcher really. There's a few I like for no good reason like Depravity or A forbidden time to give a few "Huh?" examples. But they're usually such a giant mess with a bunch of looped scenes again and again. Not the worst, but probably at the "bottom of the 3" for me.

Eroge/H-Games=Gameplay and Story.
Looking through getchu each month I can't even stand to look at the ones that have like 1-2 characters, no story, and like 20 pitctues.. Even is starting to get hard dealing with the generic school stories.

But every once in a while you get an Eushully game or Alicesoft game that has a great system and story and makes you love them all over again. When they have a system besides god damn choice boxes and a story worth reading every last line they shine so far above the rest..
