What Do YOU Think of My Dreams?
0
Hello everyone! I bring to you some tales that may be scary, funny, and/or entertaining to you (and were certainly scary to me) that may pertain to dreams you have had before. Dreams are interesting aren't they? You can see, feel, hear, and sometimes even smell and taste in dreams. The hypothetical situations our subconscious conjures up by piecing together what we see in the real world that we do not notice or bother to think about can be pleasurable, daunting, embarrassing, and/or horrific. Below are some scary/thrilling dreams I have had in the past. Please tell me what you think of them!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Angel:
I have recently had a scary dream that involved me walking down a neighborhood street that I live on when I was younger with two other guys (I don't remember who they were). One was on each side of me and when we reached the end of the street next to a street sign and a road that made a "T", the guy on my left side pointed up into the sky past a forest and a house that I lived in when I was like three. In the sky past looming clouds was an angel. This angel looked like ones you find in a painting, and it glowed. Once I saw it, everything went blank and I actually felt as if I was rising up to heaven. Suddenly, I stopped and started falling, my view getting blacker. After getting that feeling that you are just about to hit the ground (even though everything was blank), I heard a scary laugh and then woke up quickly. I was scared so I prayed. >_<;
A Premonition of World War III? (Yeah Right!):
Another scary dream I had involved a nuclear explosion. When I was at my dad's house, I was standing near the kitchen and was looking out a glass sliding door past the neighbor's house and into the horizon. Suddenly, the sky grew orange and I saw a huge nuclear explosion far off in the distance (Maybe around 50 miles away from where I was standing? Maybe more). Anyways, I was scared in my dream since you know, it's a nuclear explosion! So I jumped into the tiled kitchen I was standing near on my belly. The dream went to a 3rd person perspective. Fire and the shock of the explosion blasted through the glass sliding door and I watched my scared-stiff body have it's flesh torn away and eventually vaporized. Everything faded away as I watched my corpse burn, eventually having me wake up quickly.
The Alligator:
I have moved several times in my life. About a year ago (2010) from when this topic was posted (3/18/11) I was living at rental house. One night, I had a dream that involved an alligator. The alligator sat under my small wooden computer desk in the living room, my office chair pushed away toward the couch and a bunch of cluttered up junk. Below the desk was darkness. An alligator was slowly emerging from beneath the desk as opened my nearly pitch black room's door slowly and gazed at the desk which my laptop sat on and the alligator was emerging from. I'd say the alligator was about 4 feet or so wide (it was a big one). I don't remember much from this dream since it was about a year ago. However, I woke up quickly so I still remember it somehow.
The Shark:
Pertaining to "The Alligator", a similar dream happened except it involved a Great White shark. I don't clearly remember where the Great White came out of however, I'm pretty sure it either came out of the wall above my laptop and desk or out of the floor/wall below my desk where the alligator in the story above came out of. The shark gave me a great big smile with its rows of teeth before I swiftly woke up.
Inside...A CHICKEN!
When I was really young, I once had a dream of a chicken eating me. It was a great, big brown (or white. I don't remember very clearly. Perhaps it was brownish-yellow. O_o) chicken that was probably at least 50 feet tall from my short stature'd perspective. So the chicken gobbled me up (too bad it wasn't a turkey. Then I could have made a pun) and I landed on top of a dark red pillow's button (you know, kind of like a pillow you would see on a cushioned dining chair, with buttons) inside of a dark chamber with dark red muscle-lined walls. I got up and moved toward what would be the intestine (it was actually something like a tunnel) that was brightly lit and had sof, pink muscle-line walls. Since intestines curve, I was approaching a curve in the tunnel which I stopped at. I stared at a shadow on the wall that looked like a guy wearing some sort of viking's helmet. I walked a little bit further and saw a viking/knight and quickly woke up. Perhaps I was playing or watching my friend play "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" too much? If I recall, he was at the part when you are in Jabu-Jabu's belly.
Too Much Resident Evil 4?
One dream I had involved me looking at a woman from the ceiling in a 3rd person perspective. The woman was in a brightly lit and cramped room. A slightly open (I'd say about 30 degrees) gray door was next to her. Torrential rain was pouring down in the dark outside where it was night time. Suddenly, (this is wear my memory gets kind of fuzzy) a many with a knife (or gun) forced the woman outside. I was also brought outside, in the same position as I was before, except in the rain. I man in a trench coat pierced a sharp, dagger-like tentacle through the woman and killed her (there was a zoomed in view of the woman's face coughing up blood after the tentacle pierced her).
Other Dreams:
Have you ever woken up with one of more of your limbs completely numb, since you slept on it and had cut off the ability of the nerve to relay feeling through the synapses and/or cut off blood blood? I have many times. One time, when I woke up both of my arms were numb so I lifted my torso up and flailed my numb arms around until they woke up, giving me that "prickly" feeling in both of my arms and hands (mainly my hands).
How about the feeling of drowning/suffocating? I remember a dream I once had that involved me feeling like I was suffocating under water, drowning in a deep blue sea. Of course, when I woke up my heart was racing and I was able feel that I was breathing once again.
How I Sleep:
I sleep on a comfortable (non spring) double mattress queen size (double) bed. My head rests on three pillows, going in the order from the mattress up: normal flat pillow that my arm rests on under my head, a somewhat soft feather pillow that lays on top of my arm, and an even softer feather pillow that lays on top of the somewhat soft feather pillow and cushions my head. Next to me is a pillow that is used as a divider and hugging pillow. On the other side of the bed is a normal flat pillow. In total: 5 pillows (YAY)!

Thanks for reading! Once again, tell me what you think. Obviously there are more dreams that I have had but these are the ones that really stood out memory-wise.

I think you have too many thoughts in your head. When I think about a lot of things like people, events etc. I tend to have dreams and some make sense and others are pretty random. However, you think of some deep things there. World War III for example. I think you were dreaming about a Rapture or Apocalypse with the Angel one. I suggest to try to blank out your mind or think of good and happy thoughts. Sure, it sounds cheesy but it helps.
Also be careful on your numb limbs, I wouldn't flail them around because you "lose" command to an extent and can be a brutal consequence.

Hmm yeah well I do think A LOT. I do try to think happy thoughts. However, there is so much going on in this world that it's hard to. That's why I anime, manga, video games, doujin, and friends to help me escape from reality. Also, when I flailed around my arms, I didn't do it too hard. But yeah thanks for the heads up on the arms though. I don't get them very often anymore anyways. XD

Fyi if you were looking at the initial flash you would have been blinded. Assuming it was a recent-ish atomic weapon I think you would have been much closer than 50 miles as the most powerful nuke known to man has a thermal, and pressure radius of less than 50 miles.
Unless we're someone developed even more powerful and impractically large nukes.
OP I think you're just thinking too much before you sleep.

Yeah, I had it a lot too and still do from time to time. I just go too deep into thoughts and next thing you know, I have all these theories and whatnot in my head. It was a hassle at first, but got too used to it now. Just don't over-think stuff, leads to pretty bad "chains" from what I've gone through myself. Even in happy thoughts, I've gotten some downward spirals that lead to "AWW WHAT THE HELL REALLY!?" moments. Even right now I'm overthinking it as you can see.

True.
However, it's a dream right? Not all logic applies.
