edit: that last option was supposed to say "I haven't used an online dating service" but I accidentally hit the submit button before I finished typing it out
So I've been thinking about trying to use online dating sites but a good portion of the ones I find all seem to be of the "You must pay us to even contact anyone on this site" variety and the other portion makes me feel like I'm wading through a mess trying to find someone who interests me. But enough about that, just what does Fakku think about online dating sites.

Does Social networking count? Because I had no luck with now-dead ones like Bebo and MySpazz in my angsty youth. Tried MyYearBook but that was full of horny virgins, fake profiles or both literally begging for a shag. Tried Netlog too but that's dead in'all, and full of Fake accounts trying to add everyone.
I hear PlentyOfFish is a good place to go based on what my friends have said, but I think the whole thing is a waste of time personally.

I haven't bothered with it, since my standards are so unrealistically high that nobody would contact me. Besides, I already have someone I really like anyway. Aside from that, being single isn't too bad, most of the time.

in my case if tried most everything even the ashley madison thing for cheating wife/husbands(im not married but some NTR seem exciting and plausible) sadly everything has failed for me even cragislist i have failed horribly thats why im hoping to go to another homestate of CA to meet someone but i am glad for those who have great online dating stores and meet up in WoW(tiny bit jealous of that kind of sucess)but to each their own,and thats with my high standards as well

I've been on Match.com for almost a year, no luck yet. I think women are holding out for Fabio instead of just looking for a good honest man with good morals. But hey, thats just me. I gotta belive there is a woman out there somewhere for me. In the meantime the quest continues...

I don't believe in them. I find them a waste of time for me. Im pretty sure I can find my love one if I just go out there and look.

Never had any type of success with online dating... only met one girl from an online dating website after being on them for a long time, (Otakubooty) and after getting to know each other, we just became friends. Which isn't bad because she's fun to be with but still I feel like I waste time on it.

Mostly, like 85% a waste of time since the partners you write online will barely meet with you. I tried but not one tried to give effort into meeting up with me since the internet does keep it's job in keeping many apart.
I'd stick with the local girls because they seen you a few times and maybe heard a few times about you, and it is much easier building a relationship with them.
I don't know about the success of online dating, but I assume it doesn't work most of the time and most of the stories are just lies to give a commercial boost to online dating and spending more money.
Online dating sites are a scam and they are as probably successful as Facebook, Myspace, or any other social sites .. they just give you this illusion that it's special.

I know a few people that have tried dating sites.
My oldest brother met his fiancé on one due to him have extremely bad luck with previous girlfriends.
My mother-in-law met her boyfriend on one, he was all nice at first but he turned out to be a chronic liar and clinically insane with previous history of being detained in a mental health facility.
My brother-in-law is still looking on dating sites but can't find a "normal person".
So there is a tiny amount of success but mostly failure.

I dont even use facebook so I would never really consider a dating website but if they work for some people, all the best to them.

Waste of time.
Here's an advice: Since you have much time, why not develop your social skills in real life rather than wasting your time on online dating sites?
Just sayin'.

Never used one and I don't think I can trust those kind of sites since you never know what the other person is like

Eh, I think it'd be best to meet people at a location of similar interest. Location can be via the internet, but on an actual site of interest, instead of someone just putting stuff on their profile that may not come down as a topic that's black and white as the rest of your hobbies.

I think it is harder grind vs a MMORPG. LOL I think it is pretty wide array to meet people as it is hard to open yourself
to those kind of services. It is better to find a site that is spefic as a hobby than a spefic site.
Has one in Fakku Hook up to another Fakku memeber? LOL
