The feeling of love is a complex combination on chemicals and a inpulses in your brain set of by a gland in the brain a different combination of the chemicals give diffrent emotions like joy, sadness, anger, love, ect. and an inbalance of those chemicals can cause mental illnesses like depression and in some studies that the chemicals use to produce the sensation of love can be found in people with ocd (overly cumpulsive disorder) so you are realy "in love" with is the person you are obsessed with but over time these fellings of "love" dimen over time hence the saying "Love is a burning flame that rages uncontrollably but over time that flame gets dimmer over time to a warm glow."
