What can I say, I like the classic cars a hell of alot more that most of these modern pieces of shit that the motor companies try to pass of a cars. Never before have I seen so many four-wheeled disgraces![/font]
I know! The nineties were soooooooo gooooood for automotive design, and now every single Honda looks like Nissan looks like Toyota looks like ect, and they all look like shitboxes!
The only saving grace is Mazda. For some reason, they are the only major Japanese automaker left with a fucking clue in the design department.

Finally, someone else who gets it! The 90's was pretty much the end of uniqueness in the auto industry as far as vehicle body design is concerned. Now the only models that look 'different' are the in-fucking-credibly expensive specialty sport models and the like.

Did you know about a Dodge that was a rebranded Mitsubishi Eclipse, or that Mitsubishi sold a rebranded Dondge Dakota until a year or two ago?

I'm sorry, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but are you saying cars in the 90's didn't all look the same?
All 1996 model year according to google image search:

All recent iterations:
Spoiler:
Now, if you wanna say car designs this decade are a lot uglier than they used to be, I won't argue with that sentiment, depending on the car.
But to say they all look the same now, as though they haven't for something like 20 years and... I think that's bullshit. I even think some recent designs are a little more distinctive than they used to be.
Yeah I'm reading it like the 1990's was all different & cars today all look the same.
Also that "Eclipse" is a Dodge Stealth AKA the Mitsubishi 3000GT in the USA or the GTO for other markets. It was Plymouth with the "Laser" or Eagle with the "Talon" that was copies of the Eclipse. It was part of the DSM joint effort.

All pretty much the same. Then again, it was mostly about the smooth box look during that time. Unless of course you are talking about super high end cars like this:
1992 Jaguar XJ220 (281 made from 1992-1994)

My apologies for the ambiguity of my statement concerning car designs of the 90's. I meant it to sound like I was saying that the 90's were the beginning of the end for uniqueness in car body design, the beginning of the dark ages so to speak. But at least in recent years we have begun to see a Renaissance of sorts with body styles, so something must be changing. Let's hope it turns out for the better, and maybe, just maybe, we'll have cars that don't look like clones of each other with slightly different facelifts. As previously stated, I for one like the appearance of classic cars much more than modern vehicles, except for a select few. Up until the 80's most car companies at least had different looking body styles than each other, but that changed once we headed into the 90's and everything kinda went to hell in a handbasket in the backseat of a hot-rod on the highway to hades.(try saying that five times fast!) Again, my sincerest apologies for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused.
And yes, I do know that Lexus is just the high-end luxury version of Toyota, and that Acura is the high-end version of Honda; as well as that when Mitsubishi released the 3000GT,(which was originally called the GTO in Japan but released in the states as the 3000GT to avoid pissing off fans of the original Pontiac GTO) it was sold as a Dodge Stealth, which was then made into clones for other companies under more names, and then finally came back to Mitsubishi as the Eclipse which in my opinion just doesn't look as good as the original 3000. Quick tidbit of trivia about the 3000, in the 1991 Indianapolis 500, the vehicle that was originally going to be used as the pace car was a Dodge Stealth, but it was substituted for a prototype of the Dodge Viper last minute when the United Auto Workers (UAW) got into a pissing match with the organizers over the fact that the Stealth was a Japanese manufactured car.
