What is your favorite movie based on WWII?

I have to say Das Boot which is, in my opinion, hands down the best WWII movie ever made.
Its in German, but is really really good and the ending was so emotional.
Not a typical war movie though, rather than recreate the hectic battles (like D-Day), the story revolves around a German submarine crew.

(I have to give an honourable mention to Der Untergang as well though, which follows Hitler's last days in the bunker)

Band of brothers and saving private ryan >:3

That's not a moive, but yeah, if we're including tv-series in this then i'll say Band of Brothers too. Love that shit.

Der Untergang is my absolute favourite, but I do also love Das Boot, Inglorious Basterds, Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, Schindler's List, The Great Escape, Band of Brothers...and the most badass of them all, Escape to Victory.

Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone, Bobby Moore and Pele. What's not to love?

There are so many WWII movies that I love, but if I must choose one then its Saving Private Ryan.

Saving Private Ryan, Windtalkers and Defiance would have to be my three favorites.

Saving Private Ryan and Windtalkers, I know this isn't a movie but its worth mentioning Band Of Brothers is an amazing series that follows WWII Paratroopers.

It's a trade off between The Pianist and Schindler's List
