I have finished somewhat of a "high-school" for commercial Computing. Which means that the time-table was dominated by technical subjects, but also had some few economical. Don't want to name the exact school system since i would give away to much personal information.
So its Informatics/Economics for me so far. Intend to further study Informatics on the university.

the stupid loops and conditionals of C++ is the part
java is quite hard on your brain IMO...

VB isn't much different to c++/java, especially if you did VB.NET.
I never had any problems with loops or conditionals. I presume you have logic as subject as well? This should teach you quite easily how to formulate conditions. the only thing why j2se is "hard on your brain" is that it is fucking slow, lol. But in principle is it the same as c++, just without structs ;( and a lot more overhead.

5th semester of Information Technology.
Preparing to take the major project for the next semester.
Gonna focus on Security or Multimedia.
Since i just too lazy to code a program (even though it's fun sometime)

My major is Computer Science. B.S. too.
Yes, it its hard if you are not really used to think like a computer thinks. After I understood that, programming became easier.
Many all-nighters in my experience so far.
