got like a 3.6 i was happy. i don't need to be an overachiever. it let me get into collage real easy like.
do people who get 4.5's go to Harvard or something?? I know that to get to Harvard you have to get a perfect score on everything for you SAT's.

Weighted GPA, I don't think we use that in Finland. Well, by 4-10 scale I had a GPA of 7,50 (little bit over average) but that isn't very important to know. What is important are matriculation exam results, but I'm still waiting for the final results.
But I do have some results alright, which aren't very good though...
Literature B - lubenter approbatur
History B - lubenter approbatur
Social studies A - approbatur
Still waiting for English, math and chemistry results and renewed grade for literature.

I did a lot of outside studying, and scored high on tests. however...i frequently cut class and blew off homework, so i was frequently accused of cheating. even after retaking tests in a supervised situation, i was denied passing. to me (public)high school was more about conformity than acctual learning. i have no idea what my GPA was as i dropped out and took the GED my third year.

I dunno about that. I have a friend who went to Harvard. She had a 3.7 GPA and a 27 on her ACT.
I'm sure the reason she got in was because she was on multiple committees and clubs.

Universities look at more that just your GPA. At least for the top schools, their looking for people that are leaders. If you've been in several clubs/teams, community service, be in charge of a school function or w/e it helps. I've seen people with lower GPA's then mine and go to better ranked schools then me.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
Barely over 2.0.
And of course, now I wish I had actually cared more. So many options shut off from me simply cause I dicked off in high school. Good old hindsight.
Anyway, I still graduated early. The smart kids were flabbergasted.

It was about 2.6-ish. I really didn't care much for high school, honestly. There were classes that I loved, and classes that I hated. I got into the college that I wanted to, and I'm holding a 3.7 there. My levels of motivation just depend on the environment, and high school is not an environment suited for learning. It was all about scoring high on state tests to get funding with learning being put on the back burner.

Wow, so nearly two-thirds of Fakku claim to have a 3.5 or higher GPA? I sense there are quite a few liars. >.>

Well, I live in Finland and the system here is a bit different..
Grade Description
10 (Excellent)
9 (Praiseworthy)
8 (Good)
7 (Satisfactory)
6 (Fair)
5 (Passable)
4 (Fail)
To every grade you can put a − + or ½. E.g. 9½ would be 9.5, 9+ is 9.25 and 9− is 8.75.
And I never really checked it...but I am pretty sure that for the things I put effort in studying, the GPA was 9.0.

IIRC I went from a mid-low 3.(1-4) to a high 2.(7-9) over the course of my High School life. Though compared to middle school, those GPAs are much much higher than they were then.
