What would you do?

I have this childhood friend who is 4 years younger than I am and we have been living as neighbours for all our life. We have always hang out with each other and I have taken care of her when we were kids whenever she wants to watch a movie or buy a new game.
But when I went to highschool and college I started going out with girls and I started spending less time with her. However just 2 weeks ago I broke up with my girlfriend so now Im at my house spending quality time with myself relaxing/watching tv and playing games, but a few days ago my childhood friend came round after classes in highschool is over and we hanged out for the first time in a long time and after an hour or so of watching tv and talking she suddenly out of nowhere asked me what I think of her, and I said to her she was like my little kid sister and for some reason that got her angry and approached my face like really close and asked me to go out with her. Into which suprised me and I told her out of instinct that I would answer her within a week.
Now she's cute and all and I would say yes if she were just another girl but she's my childhood friend and if I screw up I would lose her friendship and that for some reason scares me. However I am afraid to say no to her either cause that might cause her to drift away from me and I dont want that.
So what do you think I should do? I have 2 days to go before I give her my answer. Also she's 15 and I'm 19 so I'm not sure about this but isn't that against the law?

Go for it. Childhood friend romance ftw. In all seriousness though, if you guys know each other that well you should be able to get through things that would wreck the average relationship. As far as changes go, keep in mind that her expectations will change slightly for how you interact. Remember to keep it natural though.
About the age thing: it might seem to matter now but 4 years is not an uncommon age difference in relationships.

dont falter, but dont say yes if you dont want to, its sad if youre doing it out of pity. But id say go for it sooner or later youll learn to like her. Dont make the same mistake i did. My childhood friend left and transferred homes. Now i dont have contact with her anymore. I was pretty surprised finding out from my cousins that she liked me, since my cousins live with me. I was dissapoinetd at myself for not getting the chance to ask her out or anything. But sure bro go for it.

Depending on the state, it is against the law to have intercourse with her until whatever age your state has listed.
If you are so worried about the friendship, then tell her when you give her your answer.
But also, you haven't hung out with her in 2 years...is it really that important to withhold the friendship over the relationship?

There's nothing wrong with having a relationship with someone underaged. I'm sure you never had intercourse in mind to begin with but ask yourself whether you can look at her more than just a sister and that you can actually love her. That is the main point isn't it?
But I can see what the big problem is, you're afraid that since you two are so close, if it doesn't work out it will fuck your relationship up. But if you refuse as well, it will fuck your relationship up too. Obviously, none of us know exactly how close you are with the girl so you'll have to really think deeply about what you're going with this.

I'd say go for it if you really like her. The age is kinda awkward though, she's underage 15 then you're 19.

If you want to say yes then go for it. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work, and I've got a feeling that you two would be okay afterward. If you want it but say no out of fear you might end up looking back at the decision and playing the "what if" game.

:/ she is kinda young
I think you should put her off, I mean I know I could never be in a relationship with some one who I saw as a younger sister.

Am I the only one who thought for a sec that ArchDemon was trolling because that story sounded like it was from some anime D: I didnt know stuff like that really happens :<
But yeah, I say go for it, but at the same time I also say: is 15 illegal where you live? If it is, in your shoes I'd tell her that you'll have to wait till she's not underage anymore.

No Raparperi, I also thought he was trolling, then again, most of the threads in this forum sound like trolling :p
Anyway, first of all, about the legal, unless she has really fucked up parents, or some frustrated ex- it does not matter... personal desires must always precede anachronistic legislation and retarded social standards.
For your main question, she does not sound too serious about it, and so do you... give it a shot, you never know it might work out eventually... plus she just asked you to go on a date, I don't see the reason to over-think it :p
As for loosing her as a friend over a potential break up... well you sounded fine without her ;)

no because your 19 and she is 15 and you are probably more mature than she is, but if you feel that its the right thing to do then go for it.

Hey guys I know this is a bit late but I gave my answer to her and I said yes but not official until she is 18 (her parents agreed with this condition) Although it's quite a long wait I dont really mind since for the first time since going out, I wanted to take it slow and spending time with her like when we were kids is more fun than worrying about relationship stuff.
I do think that was the right call. Well I guess time will tell, oh and thanks for your advice's.

I can't believe you haven't seen the signs that she likes you tbh. A woman won't just pop out of nowhere and ask "Go out with me", especially a Childhood friend. I say go for it and accept her, but just DON'T have sex untill she's of legal age atleast.

I have this thing when a girl ask me out I would always immediately think of how were going to have sex (I know I'm weird) but when she ask me out sex didn't even pop into my mind.
The reason I didnt see the signs is because I didn't look at her as a woman but as my little sister-like and if you see someone in that light you tend to ignore signs that girls would normally give out.
So yea thats about it.

Hmm i see. I tend to look at anyone that doesn't live in the same house as me, as potential women. I suppose you could imagine what it'd feel like making out with her, to see what your feelings actually were.
Either that, or ask her what it is exactly that she likes about you. If she can'[t pinpoint atleast a few reasons then it could only be her having a schoolgirl crush on you cos you're the closest guy she knows ;/
