Yeah....sad month for me. The local family restaurant in my area is closing at the end of the month, our family went there the other day to say our goodbyes and enjoy one last meal there. We've always gone on the same day of the week, typically every week but not all the time. 98% of the time we got the same waitress, we knew her by name and she's seen me and my sister grow up over the years to where now she can see my sisters children. The restaurant itself isn't a random place to us, our family has ties with it. It's a franchise(of course there aren't that many, and my uncle manages one of them about two town over, and my dad works there with him. There is another one nearby by, but we've always gone to the one closer and have become familiar with the ppl there, the waitress even took pictures of us all so she could remember us.
Why the restaurant is closing you may ask? Simple, the economy, essentially. Their lease was running out, and the bosses didn't think they could make money but keeping it, that and the leaser raising the price, despite the surrounding area not actually show signs of improvement. People just aren't going out to eat as much, plain and simple.
I just wanted to share this with you all, and I am curious to hear any stories you may have about a local family restaurant closing down, or anything related to this.
I shall miss the food. ;_;

Yeah, there was a fondue restaurant that I loved, and went to all through high school, it was a haunt for many a years. Then, I go off to college, and the first time I come home.
Bam.
It got closed due to a low health rating. I don't care, I would have still eaten there.

Yeah, I do understand that. My family used to go to this Vietnamese noodle shop which always had the best tasting soup and noodles that were always fresh. But it was really the waitress who made it special for us. She would always serve us no matter how busy it was, and she knew just how we liked our noodles. But eventually, it closed down due to the owner having some family problems and we didn't even get to say good bye or anything. The last meal we had there was about... 8 years ago.
