Got mine from Gelbooru, as usual. I was gonna keep the pretty one with the cat for a couple more days, but then I saw this absolutely adorable pic of Russia and Belarus in Totoro kigurumi. I could not resist.
Mine is a drawing of Solid Snake, i found somewhere on the internetz. It just reflects his personality, the personality of a cold blooded killer who lives and dies for the battlefield, so well, i couldn't withstand using it. Also the black-and-white brush-technique stands for his ability to sneak in the shadows, while his well-ripped body in the pose of holding a (presumably) SOCOM-pistol represents his warrior-spirit, as well as his headband flying in the wind. The degree of detailing is just perfectly estimated, to neither kill the emotion behind it because of perfectionism, nor to never allow it to come to live because of simplicity.
And solid snake is IMHO the most awesome Japanese game-character ever. Men who have emotions, family, or other options, could never be "perfect warriors" - Solid Snake doesn't have any of it. He unites the ambivalence and beauty of war, by being a clone without the ability to reproduce, yet only living to fight for some other people. Solid Snake is the masterwork of Kojima, and he made Kojima big.
Also, i just love the thematics of the Cold War, since never before has the world for such a long time been occupied with armament and warfare, knowing that it could be the last one it will ever fight.
And I got it because Haruka is my all time favorite female character and Yuuki my all time favorite male character. This is a matching icon with GoodDay
