out of curiosity where did you meet your current or former gf/bf's? school? work? bars? online? somewhere else?
I don't live in the biggest city but I really have no idea even where to look other than possibly online. I don't like and don't do bars but for someone in their 20's ish what kind of options is there?

Only had two girlfriends in my life and one boyfriend. First girlfriend was someone I met in Junior High when she transferred from her elementary school to my school which was a joint elementary and middle school. We dated for nearly all of our seventh grade year before we broke up that summer because I started having feelings for her best friend and I just couldn't stay with her knowing that.
Second girlfriend I met online. We were together for nearly two years before she broke up with me to go out with someone else. I was extremely upset at the time, but looking back it was understandable. We were both teenagers and it wasn't going to work out.
Boyfriend was actually someone I met here on Fakku, but things just didn't work out right. The same thing happened to a pseudo-girlfriend after that. I just have way too many things in my own life I have to take care of before I decide to share my life with someone else. That, and I really think I need to find someone closer to home, or at the very least stay away from the online scene until I have the job security and money to turn a long distance relationship into a physical one if things turn out that way.
Anyway, point at hand, I've looked just about everywhere except work. Though I was kind of close to a girl I worked with at Wal-Mart, but I don't think it ever would have turned into anything more than a friendship. There just wasn't any chemistry there, at least not for the short time I worked there. That and she was a bit older than me. I'm twenty-three and she is twenty-nine. Not a big deal idealistically, and I even usually believe that as well, but that would have bothered me a bit.

I meet my first girlfriend at work, she worked at the restaurant next to the shop I worked at.
I meet my second girlfriend in the kitchen I shared with 3 other people, it was instant attraction and within three days she became my girlfriend (I even ended up proposing to her...)
I meet my third girlfriend at my new office in Hong Kong (2 months after I moved there)
I meet my fourth (and current) girlfriend through mutual friends

The first boyfriend I met through school. The second, through youth group. The third, through the club. The fourth, through Gaiaonline (lawlz). The fifth, through school (but we dated a year or so after graduating). The sixth, through Fakku.
So you can find them anywhere.
(And I didn't even mention those who I was in a relationship with, but we didn't use the actual titles)
Just keep your eyes open.

first was back in junior high.
Next was near the end of high school.
Then a period of flings, leading to my most current ex to whom I despise...

I've had trouble meeting potential boyfriends in real life. I'm a no-life gamer and I want someone who shares that interest, and they're pretty hard to find IRL! I've had much more luck meeting men through MMOs (although those haven't worked out if they live far away) and dating sites.
Dating sites are pretty great. You don't have to beat around the bush for anything, because everyone on that site is searching for a specific thing and they want to know if you've got what they're looking for. You can be completely honest, which is really convenient.
btw I met my current BF on OkCupid. :D We play MMOs and watch hentai together. I don't think I could have found a better partner if I only looked in my usual social circles, haha.

that sounds awesome! unfortunately for a guy it'd be a lot harder to find a girl like that. I made an account on OkCupid but haven't used it much, wondered if it seemed worth it, most don't seem my type but there's some you never know about.
"outside" is such a vague answer, the point is where? if school or work isn't an option then what?

My First girlfriend was through primary School which was a 6 year relationship my second girlfriend was through work which as girlfriend and boyfriend only really lasted 1 month (2 months after as just being friends but still classified in relationship?) and the third is here on Fakku.
Don't go in search of a relationship just talk to people be social, doesn't need to be at bars or going out, I hate that to be honest.
But if you just talk to people and let them know what your like and get to know them, you might start to get feelings for them and they might feel the same way, you can't force love it just has to be there ~

You can meet someone anywhere.
The mall, the movies, a restaurant, out with friends, on a vacation, at a convention, etc. etc.
