Where do you get your stuff?
Where do you get your figures/collectibles/etc.

Necro posting but oh well. I just found out Amiami accepts credit cards now! And they revamped their whole website and added a point system! Unless they've been always doing that, then I feel like an idiot. Anyway! Aside from that, I'm definitely going to take all my orders back to Amiami now!

The new AmiAmi is promising once they work out a few bugs. It's a pain in the ass to open up a bunch of links for stuff that has released, and then get hit with the sold out message on the item's page. There should be a way to either hide/weigh down sold out item, so that they don't take so much room from the in stock/preorder goods.
I'm hoping the R18 section the have picks up; since the closing of erogeshop, we haven't really had a good place to buy eroge from, so if AmiAmi builds up on that, I will be very please. Overall though, I really look forward to the changes to their site.

Yeah, I found a few bugs when I was doing a few researching for figures. But I love what they have done though!
Oh, nice catch. I didn't even catch the R18 section. By any chance, do you know what happened to Erogeshop?

Pretty sure I remember reading something about them shutting down because the Yen was doing too well, and they couldn't operate without raising their prices a lot. Don't remember if that was the case exactly, but I'm thinking it was something along those lines.

Meh. I ordered once from Hobbylink, took like two months to arrive. I waited a long time for those gundams.

So, I know this poll is old and the topic has just recently been revived, but it still hurts me every time I open it up and see J-List (tied) for the lead.

Actually I got my stuff with help of Unofficial Distributor in Indonesia...
Well That doesn't mean I don't browse any site, 3 Site I always check are :
- play-asia : fastest delivery around asia, my first site I always check everyday, usually cheap but the collection isn't as many as other site...
- 1999 (HobbySearch) : Slower Delivery, Middle price, well this is the second I always check if I can't find the figure at play-asia, pretty much complete collection of figure...
- jlink : Well, last choice, VERY expensive price in compare of two, but this is the only site I know selling Artbook or such...

Most of the stuff I have purchased is from Play Asia. I need to use J-list more often but generally I tend to price compare around different websites and see what I'm happy with :)

I tend to stick with Amazon if they have what I'm looking for, but I think I'm gonna start go broke buying stuff at Hobby Search. Gah!
I used to avoid buying stuff at cons, thinking they were all marked up like crazy, but that isn't always the case. I've found some good stuff at con swap meets too, which is great if you like to haggle, as people want to get rid of their stuff!

Whoa! This is a very helpful discussion since I dont know how to order stuff in the net.
I always look at J-List and now AmiAmi.
But I was wondering how to use PayPal, is it different from using a credit card? Cause I dont have a credit card, Im already 19 years old btw, but im still a student. So I was wondering how to use PayPal, I hope I could order stuff without the need of a credit card. I dont want to use my dad's credit card to order figures. Could someone help me?

You can add money to your PayPal count in a multitude of ways. The most common is probably a credit card, but you can also add a bank account or even use cash. To use cash, just go into a WalMart or some other store that sells gift cards and buy a PayPal MoneyPak. You pay in store, activate the card there, and then punch in the code on Paypal's website.
Also, if you're buying figures from J-List, I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere before you buy it. The prices they charge for figures are absolutely ridiculous in comparison to other sites, such as AmiAmi (which you mentioned you now use.)

Ohh I see I see! Thank you so much!! I think I could do the cash method. I have saved quite a lot since I was really planning to buy something this summer. Im currently browsing at AmiAmi and the prices are good. I think I could buy to at a time. Again Thank you so much, you just saved me! :)
