We have a school of maybe 70 fish in my in-ground pool my dad turned into a pond with plants (pool upkeep was getting too expensive and it was just sitting there anyhow).
We put 20 or so in there two years ago and they've survived two winters and multiplied! They're very fun to watch.
They're all just from a bunch of feeder goldfish from a pet store, but they've grown almost koi sized (at least a few of the oldest ones)!

You have SEVENTY goldfish in your pool and also I've seen a few goldfish get that big before. Now, on topic, I have a 20 gallon tank with a pleco, 2 Chinese algae eaters, 5 barbs (can't remember exact kind) and 5 zebra danios. My tank aside from the pleco has fish that mostly come from southeast Asia. In addition I have live plants that, if I don't keep them cut back, try to take over the tank.

I had about a dozen goldfish for a lab experiment... They count? I mean, they only lived for about a month.

I had a goldfish. He was one day older than me and his tail was like 4 times his body length.
But then he died when he was 9.. He was laying so peacefully on his sleeping stone.
Gosh I was sad..

To tell the truth, I would think fish are the most difficult pets to care for.
Why do I say so? Unlike other pets which live out of the water, we can only observe their behaviour through tanks or ponds. Even then, we cannot be entirely sure if they are acting unusually. Furthermore, fish should live in schools and if one of them gets infected by a disease, it could possibly spread to other fish.
