But generally speaking, I kind of agree, relationships are too complex and introducing such elements usually leads to confusion, therefore the topic. Result? The girl of the couple feels betrayed by her friend and distrusts her boyfriend, thinking that he was interested in her friend... being the guy there, I can tell you it took fucking years to regain that trust, and still it becomes an issue even after breaking up and maintaining a less exclusive relationship.

Case Two: 2 buddies hanging out with a free-spirited girl... when it came to DP instead of more casual mouth+ (all things considered), one of the guys gets homophobic and pulls out since apparently he got scared of another cock close to his.
