If you are on this site, than you are most likely an avid reader/ watcher of anime, hentai, manga, and doujinshi. This leads us to an obvious question, why are we so engaged by hentai when others, even those who like other mediums of porn, are repulsed and offended by it. It seems to be an itergral part of our sexuality and a big part of our lives. Why? Help us answer this question and bring it's findings to light.

Because most of us like anime, so it's not a far stretch of the imagination to think that we would like porn that features anime characters.

Thats just because sexuality is a tabboo, people learn to be repulsive of things that dont follow the norm. We just happen to like this sort because we are open to it. Had someone told me he liked hentai 3 years ago I might have thought this person was weird.

Well i started to watch hentai after i started to watch anime so as other have said its not far stretch.
As for hentai itself i like it due to fact that innocence of characters can easily be told via facial expressions, and in normal porn its very hard to find actress that can show same innocence on tape.

As a kid, I watched some anime and played many video games with attractive female characters and I would definitely say that that made me interested in the sexuality of drawn or animated characters. I wouldn't say I love hentai though. I enjoy it once in a while but, in comparison with porn, people porn that is, my interest for hentai is very small.

I think that for the majority the reason would be the same. Now, as to why we sometimes prefer hentai over real porn I don't know. Maybe for me, I ocasionally fap to hentai instead of people porn because I'm feeling bored with the latter so I decide to shake things up. I have seen some people say that they love hentai and find porn disgusting so I dunno...

I also started watching / reading Hentai because I'm a Anime and Manga fan, I'd say this is the way how most of the people discover Hentai.
I wouldn't say, that real porn is disgusting or sth. but it's boring. If I want to see real people having sex I could also do it with my girlfriend in front of a mirror... ok, bad example but what I want to say is, that it's something you see or do in your real life, so you don't need to watch it in the internet. Hentai is somenthing you can never do in reality, it's something "impossible" and I think watching / reading about things you can't experience is much more intresting than watching / reading about things you can do yourself.

Besides that I love Anime and Hentai because you can express feelings much better and stronger by drawing characters then by recording real people.

People who are "repulsed" by hentai are the ones that aren't into the anime. So that would be biased of them and you should tell them to fuck off.

For me, the reason why I would masturbate to henati is the same reason I would want to masturbate to regular porn is the same; They both have beautiful girls in them.

Though some would consider Anime characters more beautiful because of their perfectness.
For any one person in the world there would be at least 1 character that fit their "tastes".
If such a character doesn't exists, then they could always make one up.
