I never thought I'd live to see this day.

Since Uruguay will not be playing in the finals, only for the 2nd runner up position, I have no clear favourites between Netherlands, Germany and Spain. However, the conspiracy theorist side of me says that Germany is going to lift the World Cup, especially since they are the ones that almost single-handedly bailed out the Eurozone.

I can't remember much about Netherlands regarding the Eurozone crisis, but Spain was supposedly in debt too.

Spain v Netherlands all the way, but I'm starting to get nervous...

Either way, I will be drunk and yelling at the screen during the final, so I guess it's all good ❤

Spain will win. Alonso and Busquets will suppress their creative-but-lacking-muscle midfield, Spain will play frustrating keep-ball, and the strikers will expose the frailties of a largely untested German defence.

I have to admit Spain was the better team, and I think they will win the cup but I'm still proud of that young German Mannschaft :)

Spain is like the Washington Redskins of the World Cup: lots of talented players brought together who are constantly predicted to do well but almost never win anything.

In all honesty though, they weren't playing as well as they were in their previous matches. I guess you can go on for only so long. Still sad to see them go, as I was rooting for them.

Oh well, time to bring out the Dutch flag and wait for Sunday.
