I'm somewhat prone to bouts of extreme rage. One time I was at a football game with my then girlfriend. One of these bouts hit me and, not wanting to ruin the game for my gf, I moved about 15 feet away. I was so mad that I was sleepy, if that makes sense; I wound up sleeping for half the game and woke up right near the end, no longer mad. Walking to the car, I noticed my gf looked extremely upset so I moved in to hold her and ask her what was wrong.
As soon as my hand touched her shoulder she turned to me and just yelled "Don't you touch me!" The tone of her voice, the tears now rolling down her cheeks, and all the hurt directed at me in that instant was one of the most painful things I've ever felt.

Being cheated on, I was a teenager at the time but it still hurt like a ton of bricks landed on my chest.

Still, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger... now if only that horrible song hadn't been conceived I wouldn't feel weird saying that.
