WWE Attitude Era vs Today

I remember the days when me and my older brother watched Thursday night Smackdown and had been huge fans of wrestling until our teen years. We both go back and look at WWE just to check in and see what's going on.
And while we have guys like John Cena and CM Punk prevalent nowadays, I'm glad to see The Rock, Stone Cold (I think), Kane and The Undertaker still around. But I've been hearing a lot of complaints on youtube that wrestling just isn't what it used to be and we need to go back to the days of the Attitude Era.
In my opinion I think today's stuff is okay, but everything certainly feels more focused on the drama than the action, like watching a soap opera.
Anyway, what do you all think? I decided not to make this a poll because this isn't something I feel can be answered with a simple yay or nay.
