Your Family

They are awful. I was kicked out of my house and everyone in my 'family' turned a blind eye and left me out on the street. Luckily, I had a really good friend who got me a job at his job and let me stay at his place. Since then, I consider myself to have no family.

My father I don't speak to because he wasn't really around. He has tried to involve himself after I graduated high school but he soon got his dumbass deported. He stills tries to get a hold of me, I just don't answer anymore. The few times I have its him asking for money or trying to hire an immigration lawyer.

I have a decent relationship with my mom, the same with my grandmother (moms mom). We're all a bit stubborn and have a bit of an attitude, so we but heads a bit, but we love each other.

My grandfather (moms side) I don't really see or talk to maybe once or twice a year. I don't remember anything good about him. But he at least tries to male sure that were alright.

My younger brother I could care less for. My mother spoiled him and is incredibly lenient towards him when it had come to discipline. So he has grown up to be a brat. We butt heads alllllll the time and I tend to be the one to put him in his place.

My step dad I dont talk to anymore. He ruined my trust and is a compulsive liar. Ran out on myself and my brother years ago. He still talks to my brother once in a while but doesn't bother talking to me, since im aware of what was really going on.

My sister I love to death but I don't see too often. Mostly because her mother moves all over town and its growing increasingly more difficult to keep track of her. I think shes grown to resent me a bit now because of it. Not sure why.

My uncles (moms) side are assholes and I hate them both. They had their own brand of abuse that I dealt with growing up. I avoid speaking to them whenever possible.

My uncle (on my dads side) is wonderful. I consider him more of a father figure and role model then any other male in my family. He's made nothing but good decisions.

My grandparents (dads side) are sweet as rain. Very, very, very good people. I wish I could see them more often. I love them dearly.

My mom: my closest family member, she's the one I go to if I have problems I cant solve on my own. She's not the brightest person, but she has good points and talking to her helps me make decisions. She has always let me make my own decisions, even when she has known my decisions arent the best ones. Thats because she thinks nobody can grow as a person without making mistakes.

Dad: no one in our family really likes him because he's a narcissistic asshole. He's still a part of the family tho, and is invited to christmas, birthdays and such. He has been more tolerable after he and mother broke up tho. But I still dont have to spend more time with him than I have to.

Step dad: I find him a bit annoying, but he's a good person and makes mom happy. And he's also a pretty good cook :D

My little sisters: They're twins, 6 years younger than me and I love them to death. They are different from me, liking all kinds of girly things, but still we like spending time together and I love having them over at my place for sleepovers.
And the younger one of them had a baby in january and that little thing is the cutest baby I have ever seen! I dont usually like babies, but that one is a good boy and he doesnt even cry as much as most babies. And even tho at first I was kinda against my sister keeping the baby, I'm so fucking proud she did! I wouldnt have the guts to get a baby, even tho I'm 6 years older.

Older brothers: just like my sisters, they are really important to me and we're like friends. And I have some things in common with both of them: the older one is SUPER good at drawing, really likes games and watches some anime now and then. And the younger one is a god when it comes to taste in movies and TV shows. Whenever I need something new to watch, I go to him and he never disappoints me. Both of them are also really good drinking company and have similar sense of humor as I do.
And the most important thing: its all thanks to them I'm this awesome. Most of the things I like I've learned from them. I dont even want to think about what kind of person I would be without them.

My family is, in general, pretty good. My parents are European (Dad's a brit, mum's french) and they never actually got married. Moved to the USA and had me, my sister and my brother then sort of drifted apart. My dad is amazing. I love him so much. He's incredibly calm, really easy to talk to and always supportive. My mum is different. She's absurdly pretty and sort of perfect and gives me a huge inferiority complex. I don't get along well with her. My older brother is a lot like my dad, and I really look up to him. My younger sis just started college and she is the most adorable, cutest person ever.

Big Mexican guy.I look just like he did at my age and have the same sense of humor as he does. He doesn't really say it outright, but he's really proud of me. He'll brag about me to his buddies when he's drunk and when his buddies are drunk they'll tell me about it. He was fairly stern growing up but that was because he came from a less socio-economically advantaged household and wanted me to have more opportunities than he did. He was quick to discipline me and I was quick to deserve it. He taught me how to do basically everything around the house- simple repairs, cooking, washing dishes, doing laundry- and college is proving that to be fruitful. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman before me and my twin brother were born. He used to play baseball, run track, golf, and hunt, though that was some years ago. Now, he still golfs, though less than when he was younger, and instead of hunting he goes deep sea fishing. He's still active at the age of 60 and rarely looks his age. I hope that I wind up like him when I get older. Obviously I really respect him.

Small Chinese woman. The only things I got from here are thin eyes and a short temper. She was hard on me and my siblings growing up when it came to academics though very maternal in every other aspect. When my father would discipline as a child me I would always go crying to her and would usually fall asleep in her arms. She would work long hours at the first job I remember her having and I didn't really see her all that much because she would get home after I had fallen asleep. Once she changed jobs I saw her more, but she would alternate day and night shifts every couple of weeks iirc, so she would sleep during the day. She doesn't share the same sense of humor my dad does, and that garners a lot of glaring looks for me and my dad. She's a fairly driven woman though prone to rather intense emotional outbursts. She always tried to coddle my older brother- even now, to some extent- because he was always just less competent than I was. There was a time a few years ago where she was laid off during poor economic times and she went through a spell of depression. She managed to pull out of it after many months and found a new job that was almost as good as the one she had before. Her family all lives in different states, so she doesn't get to see them very often. When she does plan trips, though, she's sure to bring along me and my siblings if she can, it serves to both spend time with us and let us see her family/let her family see us.

Formerly the bane of my existence. As children we were as close as twins usually are. He takes more after our mother. He used to be overweight after putting on around 30-40 pounds spending the summer at out grandmother's house. Unlike me, he was never really good at much growing up. Where I excelled in academics he struggled to keep up; while I was competent around the house he would constantly create problems for me and my father to clean up after; while I was active he lived a sedentary lifestyle. His inability led, in part, to my general ability- cleaning up after his messes and compensating for him growing up led me to be more able than the average person in general. He's gotten much better recently and is really applying himself now that we're in Uni.

We didn't get along all that well growing up, and we still go back and forth now. She was the firstborn, and has that sort of attitude to her. She would always try to "mom" me and my brother when we were little and it got pretty annoying. She's a smart girl who makes bad decisions on occasion. She goes to a pretty good college and is in the process of getting a degree from a good university. She works hard when she has to but is frequently sick. Not as much to say about her as the others.

Not gonna say as much here. On my dad's side you have a bunch of loud Mexicans. We act exactly how you would imagine. We all live in the Austin are, so we gather up every chance we get and are loud and eat. It's always a party here. When we say "show up at ____" we really mean "we'll start eating at ____ so don't be late otherwise there might not be much left". We party hard and sometimes the parties last for days. On my mother's side you've got very straight-laced Chinese people. They're mostly pretty tame and outings with them are usually eating out at restaurants. They have a different sense of what's fun than my dad's family does, preferring quiet time at home with the close family over the brash get-togethers that the Mexican family does. I rarely get to see my mother's family because they all live in different places, as stated above. It's weird sometimes to see how different everything is sometimes. Like a cousin of mine, she's several years younger than me and the last time I saw a picture of her I was taken aback. It didn't even look like how I had remembered her- she had gone from my little cousin to a young woman in what seemed like no time flat. But, all that aside, I love my extended family and they would be right there to bail me out of any trouble that I get myself into.

Marine Veteran, was somewhat strict tried to toughen me up was a kid which I thought was 'being mean'. When I was young, my parents divorced and I stayed with him on the weekends. He was a rolling stone, so he had children with other women. He wanted me to be more active to my reluctance due to me wanting to play video games all day. My contact with him was limited once I moved to Texas. Due to him having other children to support, he didn't support us financially either.

Pretty much 'took care of me' for a good majority of my life. We were always on welfare, my mother always wanted a 'free ride', and we were moving from one house to the other and living with other people. I had no real place to call home. We went homeless once somehow when she had her boyfriend and my uncle living with us and they ALL had jobs. Her lazy lifestyle is why I moved in with my Grandma.

Diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. He's in his own world at times. He gets agitated over the most trivial things at times. Believe it or not, he sometimes can point out stuff to me that I overlook.

Probably the one to be the most successful out of all of us. He has charisma, a talented artist, and skilled guitarist. He inspired me to play guitar as well and teaches me stuff. He's recently seen the truth about our mother's behavior and is slowly distancing himself from her like I was.

Growing up SHE wore the pants, a real tomboy. She's a fantastic lead role, that's made a few bad decisions in the past, like getting pregnant in high school but she still graduated.

I do love my family but the past two years have made me want disappear from them for some time. My parents should have gotten divorced several years ago but couldn't because of financial reasons. So I've been forced to live in a home where two people hate each other. I've lost a lot of respect for both my mother and father.

My sister is 11 and she's a very smart and funny kid. I just hope all of the hatred in this house doesn't give her a negative outlook on life or relationships.

My mom's side of the family are very nice people and I love them but they could drive any sane man crazy. I used to be closer to them. My great Grandpa used to hold that side of the family closely together. When he passed away everyone kinda drifted apart.

My grandparents on my dads side are wonderful people. They are the ones that have helped me most through these past few years as I try and play peacemaker within the household, watch over and be there for my sister, take care of myself, and go to a demanding job everyday. My grandma I can honestly say I've never seen her cry, or get angry which (as a kid) is really nice. I know now that she does get sad and angry, she's just too stubborn to express it. My grandpa I can honestly say is one of my best friends and he's always been there for me. He presses me sometimes but I know it's because he wants what's best for me. He was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. It's made me realize that he is indeed getting old and won't be around forever. For that reason, I try and appreciate our time together.
