Your favourite Monopoly set?

[font=verdana][color=green]Everyone knows monopoly. Everyone has played this great board game; as such, we all must have a favourite set of colours or pieces that we would always like to have. Seeing as it's the seasonal period, I just suddenly thought of this conundrum.
Personally, the Greens are my favourite. They can grant you a big payout if someone lands on them, but they are more likely to be landed on than the Dark Blues. Also, they are right near the "Go to jail" square, making it a dangerous area. If I can get them, doubled with the Train Stations, then I am a very happy player.
How about your personal favourite? I don't care for any mathematical probabilities that may exist, just what your gut instinct says to you as you play.

Reds has a decent payout and has one chance card that send you to one of the reds. Now, if you own the Yellows along with the trains and utilities. There is no safe space for the players except one and a way to drain money from a player that just won "free parking"

Listing the actual property name groups might help a bit.[font=verdana][color=green]Problem; different countries have different property names. How should I proceed with that?

Monopoly was originally an American game, the original names are the most widely recognized. Not to say you should ignore other languages entirely, but that's generally something that can be sorted out during the discussion span of the thread.

Could of swore there was purple properties...ANYWAYS, DEM UTILITIES.
Mediterranean and Baltic Aves, respectively. I believe whatever version the OP has played may have substituted the color purple for brown. This is no actual brown property group in the original Monopoly.

Ok, I thought I was going crazy for a second there.
Of all the colors to substitute... They chose purple.
Anyways, since the purple properties do exist, I will just pick those.

Brown is my personal favourite, because it's easy to invest in. But in term of effectiveness it's gotta be orange or red

If dark blue were the last ones, then those. I was naive enough in those days to think that "to earn big cash, you gotta spend big cash". Don't know if I still believe that now, though. :/

[font=verdana][color=green]I'm just going to clarify this matter, just so it's done and settled.
Yes, different countries have different languages, but I can name at least five other countries that speak English and have different Monopoly boards; England, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand and Australia. They all use the UK version of the board, as countries in the Commonwealth generally speaking use the UK board. So, that's that matter settled.
I'm also English, so I grew up using the UK board; therefore I don't even know any property names of the US version. I could quote "Old Kent Road" to "Mayfair", but it would be arrogant of me to assume people know what they mean. So, I used the most recognisable aspect of the properties; the colours. Again, using the UK board, I used "Brown" instead of "Purple"; but I also listed the colours in order they appear on the board - Brown/Light Blue to Pink/Orange to Red/Yellow to Green/Dark Blue.
Also, I think the reason that purple was changed to brown was because of the location of the properties of the board - purple is a colour which is seen as regal, whereas brown is seen as dirt. Purple doesn't suit the properties it indicated, so it had to change. They could have changed Dark Blues to Purple instead, but then you'd lose the iconic Dark Blue; same goes for Greens, Yellows etc. So, might as well minimise damage and just get rid of the purples altogether.
Hope that clarifies matters.

SamRavster: I understand your good intention of trying to be as region-free as possible, but that is also why I made my suggestion. One person has already been confused.

Usually go with the rail roads. I rarely got to play the game because everybody would always walk away hating the game.
