Magic the gathering. Funny how I got into it, happened my freshman year in high school. I was walking home from school, when I found a single card on the floor. Spoiler:
The next day I showed it to a friend who said that if I give him that card he'd get me into the game. And he did, so I learned all about the game, and a week later I had already wasted fourty dollars on cards. Don't play much anymore, but still have a metric ton worth of cards.
Dude swiped your card!?

Poker..... since I was 9
but at 10 cents per round XD
and it never gotten higher... even till now (hahahhaha)
P.S. Poker is a strategy game like chess, the chances to get card combos are similar to that of scrabble to get high words I suppose :S

First tcg that I played was Pokemon way back when I was still a wee innocent elementary school kid. I still remember when it first came out. First card I ever got I still have, a Meowth from Jungle set that somebody gave to me. I don't know why but I've always liked that one in particular. I tried to talk my mom into to taking me to some tournaments so that I could actually get some practice but alas she never had time. Then I got out of it when Yugioh first hit the states. I wish I could find somewhere I could sell most of my cards off cause I have a shitload of the really old ones, like when they first came out old, that are probably worth some money.

I managed to lose my Yugioh deck entirely, and threw away useless cards, but I still have all of my holo Pokemon cards. I figure I'll just keep them until they are antiques. Someone will surely value them by then. ^_^;;

Pokemon ftw! I had a fire/water deck going back in my younger days. Everytime I won was either with my holo Flareon or my holo Garydos. Man those were good days. Sadly I lost all of them in a transfer over to my current house. Damn I wonder where that box of cards went. Oh well, it was a fun childhood. and damn what I would give for a good ol' fashioned pokemon card game.

Pfft trading card games, are you cereal? I'm with Gambler on this. My first card game was poker, to be more specific blackjack was the first one I played then I went on to 5 card stud.
To tell the truth I can't really remember, but I think it was something along the lines of cards with numbers on them.
