I always knew some of the people downloading my torrents must've had iron balls, as some countries have pretty harsh anti porn laws... especially some of the Islamic ones.

No wonder in half those on the list there is fighting going on. Let them middle eastern countries have porn then they can fap instead of wasting one another!

Not wanting to cause a scene, but porn is fought all around the world by many organistions, but the most virulent of those are religious organisations or even whole religious orders.
The reason porn is illegal in these countries is illegal in these countries is because they are possess a governmental system that is closely tied to religion.

Most of these brand porn as "evil" and "lecherous", which can be understood from their point of view.

But it mostly brings to attention the lack of opening that these countries have. Control over information, propaganda, all of this is also present in these countries, most unstable or at war allready.

Could it be thought that a countries openness to the world can be rated by thequality of distributed porn on its web pages?
Probably not, but it may well be a factor.

I understand the Middle Eastern countries with there religious beliefs and all. But Some are surprising, like Ukraine, and Russia/Belarus. Also Singapore is kinda funny, you can look at it you can't have it though.

You are asking people to share their experience with illegal activities/possession in their life. Isn't that against forum rules? I think you should rephrase it to "... how you deal without porn in your life ...". Assuming porn not treated the same as hentai or else they shouldn't be on these forums.

This list left me speachless in so many way and on so many levels, I would have never guessed China...

Corrections I don't think downloading/watching PORN in Ukraine is really an issue. However just like with any other country "child porn" is not allowed. Otherwise living there I would not see bunch of DVD's being sold everywhere :D.

And same goes for Russia, you have to understand that this country's make porn them self, but if it is child porn then you are bound to pay the price. Not to mention you will be raped, beated and abused day after day if you where convicted as pedophile and put into either Ukrainian/Russian jails :D

I don't much on counties that have illegal porn laws, so it wouldn't take much to shock me...

Let's just say, I wouldn't want to live in those counties. However, I can't understand why porn would be illegal in the first place.

Seems all the former Communist countries have some kinda problem with porn. I wonder why that is, since if your doing your business to porn, It would keep the population down. How come production in Russia is problematic?

I suggest you read up on the amount of control the Chinese government exercises on flow of information.

I have the say the religiously tied countries on that list do not surprise me at all.

Neither does China, or Signapore.

Though some of the other asian countries on there do surprise me a little bit.

I haven't looked into prosecution, but it's also "illegal" in Kuwait.

KC has such a wealth disparity, it's near impossible to enforce (other than internet blocks). The underclass (who are usually from Bangladesh or the Philippines) gets it from the black market (which is less clandestine over there), the rich (any Kuwaiti citizen) can simply piss away money to get it.

Really, I think the only people getting screwed, in this respect, are the middle class. (Allied forces, British Petroleum workers, semi-citizens.)

It varies. Poland for instance has some issues, but all in all porn is still permitted as long as its kept behind wraps. Hungary is the porn capital of Europe and what made anal common in porn. Slovakia, The Czech Republic, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, Germany all permit porn. So one can't just tie this to Communism and be done with it.

No porn for China? Fuuuuuuck, I gotta rethink my overseas exchange destination...

My info on this came from Kiev Today, Ukraine's capital news paper. Its not and has not been classified what porn is classified as illegal, in the end is a un-finished bill just like SOPA/PIPA where. Which seems to punish those selling/dest. child porn and some other porn stuff.

I still go to porn sites in Indonesia anyway.
I don't give a fuck. The system is so fucked up that what I need is just a proxy to be able to go to a porn site.
