Did you vote? Why or why not?
Did you vote or not?

This is mostly for American voters, who had their election day today, but people in other countries can also talk about why they voted/will vote this year or not.
Me? No, did not vote. Can't, actually, as I'm not a US citizen yet. But when I do get my papers processed, I'll still vote in every election cycle barring emergencies, because I believe that voting isn't just about choosing what is best for you--it can also be about choosing which option will make your life suck less.

I voted today to *try* and make a difference, although it really now seems to be a competition between dumb and dumber. I also feel that if you didn't vote, you can't bitch, and this is my first elections, since I turned 18 a little bit back!
Btw, guess who I DIDN'T Vote for...
P.S. my decision was not based on this video, I did do my homework.

I voted a month ago since my county still has me on the absentee ballot roll, because i was out of the country for three years(army and work abroad).

I voted. However, doing an absentee ballot makes me wonder if they'll even count my vote.
Anywho my old neighbor is running for city mayor back in my home town so I sorta felt obligated to more than usual.

They count them first because most of them come before the polls open... if you in the military your ballot won't make it until the next week or so.. so the vote most likely won't matter.

I wanted to vote but I didn't have any way of getting into the district where I'm supposed to vote at as I don't have a car and it was a county away.

All of the people running here in Georgia suck equally and I don't like any of them, so I didn't even bother.

Because I am lazy, lacked the gas required to drive to my polling place (currently at school elsewhere in state), and didn't do absentee ballot type thing in time.

Yes! Say what you want to say about the political system we have right now and with the way things have been going. But this right here is our way of either showing our displeasure or appreciation in a candidate or incumbent. So the Republicans now have control of the House and the Democrats have the Senate, what does this mean...? I can only hope for a mere sliver of bipartisanship and compromise. Or it's going to turn into a shit-fit of "us vs. them". I'm going to try and be optimistic on this one.

Spoiler:
The Republicans have been patting themselves on the back for being the party of "NO." And the Dems are big wusses and letting them have their way. But in any case, both parties are in the pockets of big corporations, and either way, we're screwed.
Edit: and as I mentioned earlier, right now it's just a matter of choosing who screws us over less. In California, Brown won, not because he is a good candidate, but because he would be marginally better than Whitman.

I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I didn't. I've been feeling very apathetic at late. It isn't as any Democrat, Independent, or Republican candidate can actually do much to fix any of the major problems in the United States.
I'm so sick of the mudslinging and backstabbing campaigns, particularly all of the television advertisements.
Only thing I cared about was voting in order to stop someone from joining Board of Commissioners in my county, but the person I didn't want to win ended up winning by over 5,000 votes so it didn't matter that I chose not to vote. Now I'm going to be lucky if I don't end up living on the street for the next four years this fucker is in power.
