Do you think we will ever reach absolute zero?

Touch'e! I stand corrected. Im so glad that I'm not a scientist :D
Other planets ey... So gutted I wont be around when that happens :(

errr why would you want to reach absolute zero
I mean if it were to make the world colder then....
world colder -> chicks were more clothes and thicker clothes -> us guys get less eye candy to look at.
A while back someone thought that absolute zero can be achieved by freezing time itself.I tried to freeze time by putting an alarm clock in liquid nitrogen.Didnt work though

...........to hell with physics, huh...I mean, freezing clock = freezing time?

If you think of obtaining absolute zero by freezing, it seems impossible. But instead, all the energy from a specific matter just has to go someplace else. When all the energy leaves a mass it will achieve absolute zero. The problem is we don't have a way to "suck out" energy from matter. But I don't think that will always be the case. We split the atom which was thought to be the smalls unit of all matter, will figure this out in time.

Reaching absolute zero and containing it is along the lines of creating dark matter and containing it. The closest we're probably going to get is for a billionth of a second and then it will go back up in temperature.
However, the theories of physics are constantly changing so there's a chance that it will be possible to reach absolute zero for a longer amount of time, but I doubt that it would happen anytime soon.

Hmm.. I doubt it would (give it a bunch of years or centuries or even a millennium and it just might happen)

absolute zero is simply impossible to reach naturally. even if sun is dead, we will not even get near to <80K. i don't know if in the future some scientist will be able to build some huge vacuum field with gigantic freezer and reach absolute zero by it...

If we do or do not ever reach 0k does not matter as any probe we create to confirm such a state would be ineffective because absolute zero cannot be transferred uncontaminated to another object. And since all of our temperature reading apparatuses use some sort of matter or particle that comes into direct contact with the specimen, you can in no way leave your sample uncontaminated.
And since it cannot be proven it is impossible.
