I personally think that if a person is deemed clinically dead with no realistic chance of survival, they ought to be switched off stat. Relatives ought to have no say in it, as it is a well-known psychological fact that they will often refuse to have a loved one switched off, because they hate to let go. That's understandable, and to some point human, I guess, but it ought to play no role in the matter at hand. This answer basically sums up my thoughts, I would want the plugg pulled if I turned veggie. I would also pull it one someone as well; I don't know something about leaving someone "alive" like that just seems wrong to me.
It'll be a waste, those body parts could help another person
First and foremost thing a man owns is himself. His organs belong to him and only he is capable of making the decision to donate his organs. Otherwise, it's theft pure and simple. There are also religious people whose religion forbids them from having anything removed as it'll prevent them from getting into their equivalent of heaven such as Rastafarian.

Eh, people tend to have different opinions as the circumstance varies. I personally think that euthanasia should be permitted, but I can see the political difficulties with it being instated, for example a person may agree while conscious that in the situation where they are in a coma, etc, they should not be placed on life support, however in the time between when the person made such a decision and the time between when he was rendered in a coma he could have changed his mind, realized he had something to live for, etc.
I would also assume that most families would dislike the idea, although I believe that the governments money is wasted on such things, if the person is in a coma, bad luck, given the fact that in another time period people would have willingly threw his unconscious, yet living, body into a river, cave (?), anywhere, I'd consider his death to be more than "fair".

I personally know of someone, who is a family member of a person in coma. She has been working endlessly, to pay off the fees to keep her husband 'alive', in the hospital. Why? Cause Euthanasia isn't allowed in most countries. Because of that, her own life becomes burdened by debts and work, and her standard of living dropped greatly. She even had to sell her house and live with her in-laws, because of that. Because of this, I became a huge supporter of Euthanasia.
The husband have extremely low chances of waking up, and is just an extra financial burden to the family. If Euthanasia was not banned, her life would be a whole lot better. While there are emotions involved, she told me once that she rather have a feel the pain of killing her husband, then for this to drag on.
Point being, Euthanasia ought to be given as a choice to the dearest kin of the patient if the chance of survival/waking up is low (maybe after not waking after 2 years), for the sake of the families supporting the them.

i'm not against euthanasia if the animal doesn't have long to live and/or will be in pain for the rest of its life. As for pulling the plug....if the person is brain-dead or will be in gradually increasing pain for the rest of his/her life, i'd pull the plug (of course i'd ask the person first if possible)
