Philippines, Edsa revolution, 1986.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_Power_Revolution
I protested in from of a tank and didn't get turned into a pancake!
Oddly enough, if I had a kid like that he'd be grounded until he gets rheumatism.
in SEA, i think that the EDSA revolution was one of the most peaceful revolutions that the world. even Marcos didnt have the heart to open fire upon his own countrymen unlike his general who wanted to quell the hotbed with brute force.

When Jon Stewart called out the republicans on fillibustering a bill to help 9/11 responders
Seriously, when a bill that helps people who risked there lives(and pays for it by closing a corporate tax loophole, thus eliminating any effect it may have on the deficit, unlike the tax cuts for the wealthy that the republicans insisted on having) can't get put into law, i think its time to declare the political system broken.

avoid arguing with kalistean, he isn't someone to be taken seriously. This is fairly serious so I'm going to move it here, but another mod may move it back due to having a video.I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that asking for people to post their favorite political moments was a serious discussion with a thoughtful topic and not just a random thread meant for people to post random moments they feel are are funny.

[font=Verdana][color=green]I really wish you would stop focusing on that one point; you've still yet to post a relevant post.

There is a specific reason that the forum is divided the way it is. And it is important enough that it is constantly enforced because of that reason.
The fact that I posted to inform of the mistake so you can make sure you do not make it again was the only intention I had in my first post. If you read some of the rules they follow along the same lines of what I posted.
I then proceeded to get jump for trying to help by informing users of proper posting procedures so that constant threads are not posted in the wrong forums and accused of multiple things because YOU decided to jump to wrong assumptions.
The 'one point' I'm making is the reason I originally flagged the thread to be moved, which is was for that very reason. The fact that this still does not belong in Serious Discussion as it is not a Serious Discussion has not changed. This is a Random type thread completely and I am slightly peeved that I'm getting called out on shit I am not doing and told not to be taking seriously when I am trying to help.
So forgive me if I proceed to treat your thread as is properly defined by the rules while you whine.

This was just fucking embarrassing, I remember it so well and I was so young!
Fast foward to 1:22 (Its so deliciously wrong it should be drizzled with syrup)
We all know what happened... LULZ :)

I agree with Kalistean, but this forum is a hotbed for the politically aware, let's say, so the thread isn't entirely out of place. It shouldn't be here but it probably helps.

Honorable Mentions:
Lincoln signing the Emancipation Proclamation. Single-handedly kept England from allying with the Confederacy. That didn't win the war (Grant did) but it sure as heck prevented it from being lost. The best part was that no one could claim that he didn't want slavery abolished. Pure intentions with awesome side-effects. Utter genius.
Preston Brooks beating Senator Charles Sumner with a cane. Who said politics isn't dangerous to one's health?
Brown vs. Board of Education. Righted the mistake of Plessy vs. Ferguson.
Bill Clinton's "I did not have sex with that woman." This is when people began to realize that America is a very, very forgiving country for just about anything except lying.
The Clear Winner
President Wilson's request to Congress for the United States to enter World War I. Wilson is the only president with a Ph.D. The man was a great president and I bet was a better public speaker than Obama. He was indisputably better at foreign policy than Obama.
Regarding Kalistean...While I agree with you that this thread belongs in Random, you're going about it the totally wrong way. Logic combined with insinuating others will never get you what you want.

I didn't insinuate anything. I posted originally to just plain help and direct things.
It wasn't until people started accusing me of stuff I didn't do that really started to tick me off. My wording was pretty damn similar to some of the help threads on the forums, Serious Discussion included.
I don't like being accused unjustly of stuff and told not to be taken seriously when I'm only trying to help.
