Too many feminists want to be men without the disadvantages of being men. Some also seem to hold this belief that women are these holy, untouchable vessels of perfection while men are nothing but brainless, sex-crazed fiends that aren't capable of thinking. If this group had their way, men would have lives similar to those of male bees - live until they mate and then die.

Sure, women can have the same rights as me. I have no problem with that. They are human, after all. However, if they want the benefits that men currently have, they're gonna have to take the bucketfulls of shit that come with it, too - no if's, and's, or but's.

And feminists that look down on women that decide to be housewives as sub-human creatures? They need to take a look in the mirror before they speak of others. Being a housewife is a fuckton of work and those in that position deserve a lot of respect.

I wouldnt ban any sort of hentai though, because I know a lot of people wouldnt be happy about it...


But I do admit, I hate it in hentai when the men arent nice to the girls... But I also hate that in real life or any anime... I dont believe a girl should love any boy that calls her an idiot at some point or something... I love love and do love to see a love story in an anime.. But only if the boy treats her right

Also, I hate it when men talk about women... they dont understand and day things that arent right... and when people are in love they need to show it!

That's more along the lines of humanism than feminism (Unless you're actively looking into issues that deal specifically with women inequality). Nonetheless I feel the same way about this issue. There are plenty of productive methods to help prevent issues such as sexual harrassment and rape, banning art forms that exploit those acts is not one of them. At the very least, it should be requested that such material remain underground (Although I'm not sure exactly what would qualify as underground).

As mentioned a few times earlier, rules come with obligations / a downside. If we take the daily job -/ work life as an example, I am absolutely fine with women having leading positions in politics etc, but I also expect that they deal with the critics and don't escape into the "can't you treat a woman nicely" or "You only disagree because I am a woman" area.

The funny thing about the whole issue is that men don't have it all. In custody cases, the woman often gets the kids, even if the father would raise the child/children in a much better environment. Also, it's practically impossible for a man to convince people that he was raped, even if he most certainly was. Another thing, it's seen as normal for women to stay at home or work, but it's still considered pretty weird for a man to be a stay-at-home dad.

We should all want equal rights for people, but I think the term "feminist" is silly. As WarLord said, that's "humanism," wanting equal rights for all people. We shouldn't focus on giving women the same rights as men; we should work on giving all people the same rights. Wanting to only get rid of inequality against women is a bit sexist, in and of itself, because it ignores that there is a bit of inequality against men as well.

Gibbous made a good point here about the two different branches of feminism.
The ones who claim that any form of sex is rape dont help matters at all and undermine all the work that feminist who work against inequalities in our culture.
When it comes to issues around sex though things can get complicated. I admit i have not read many academic articles with feminist takes on sex in our culture but sex is one of those inffinite grey areas.
Personally i view rape as one of the most fucked up acts a person can do. Is rape in hentai the same thing? Grey area. Sure the girl is getting raped but this is a constructed fictious story and just as there are people who like to wear tight leather there are just as many men and women who fantasise about being dominated by their partner.
I can understand why some feminist would want to get rid of hentai that depicts women poorly and in some cases they are fully justified however attacking such depictions in pornographic culture is the long way around when the energy should be focused on changing attitudes in the mainstream, social culture.

What irks me about feminism is that somewhere down the road, some bitch turned it from a fight for equal rights for women and social growth of people into a war against men.

Seriously, any woman that goes out of her way to make me feel guilty for being born a guy can just fuck off

These articles (especially the one about South Africa) have really lowered my opinion of the current feminist movement because I'd think that these would be of more concern to feminist than trying to get support to ban fetishes in games. Yet I have heard more about banning rape games that are manufactured in a country with one of the lowest crime rates in the world than about the country with the highest rate of sexual assault in the world.

Many parts of the current movement seems to be striving towards it's goals in the wrong places, especially when you consider that

You have to remember though, a bunch of whiny, overbearing hens will have alot more sway against feeble-minded UN officials and Japanese ministry servants than the leaders of a heavily Islamic[and male driven] state and the state that used to make 1950's America look like Captain Planet.

I think the hens are trying to claim victories where they can get them. You seriously expect them to go into Iraq/Iran and promote women's rights? They'll be murdered in the night. You expect them to go to South Africa and promote women's rights? They'll be brutally gang-raped, and then murdered in the middle of the night.

Feminism by itself is positive, They're a force that keeps the balance of the two genders (any smart ass who's gonna step forward and add gay as a third gender stop yourself) equal. But as it's said there are extremists that ruin this reputation. There is this belief that the idea of sex itself is patriarchal and these extremists are very aggressive against it. Some even brought up the idea "Why are only women the victims of tentacle rape in anime?" These questions are ridiculous but because of their distorted notion of feminism these extremists would go so far just to have their way. Sad as it may seem, these forces are a part of the society and the labor force that governments cannot ignore.

Trivia:

Before, they only post female models in their undies to sell their clothing products. The reason is that when men sees them they go "God my wife/ girlfriend would look sexy in that". This makes the female population want to buy them to make their mates happy. This actually works since female undies come in different styles so there's a reason for advertisement.

However because of the female extremists they were forced to use male models for their "for men products" such as briefs or boxers. This advertisement is useless, when a guy sees another guy naked in a poster does he get a hard on and say "God he looks good in those, I'm gonna buy one." Or when a girlfriend sees that would she go and buy those pair of briefs or boxers? The answer is no. Then why with the advertisement when it's clear that it's useless since all briefs and boxers have almost the same design *if there's a brief with design it'd look like panties* and the men don't really show them anyway. Well the answer is simple, to calm the feminist extremists they had to show that the other sex is also being used as models and not just them. This is supposed to create a more balanced view of the two genders in the society.

UUUGH crazy feminists drive me nuts! Especially when they start trying to ban animated/illustrated porn! They're not even real women being demeaned for gods sake! Honestly, the very idea of banning a fetish expressed through hentai is ridiculous. In 99% of cases the women in hentai don't act or look like real women, to the point where I'm pretty sure if I saw a live action version of stuff I fap to regularly I'd vomit everywhere because it would be so horrible. Self righteous organizations really need to get it through their heads that loli has nothing to do with pedophiles and hentai has nothing to do with rapists.

My little sister has a feminist friend. And when I visit my sister, that friend is often at my sister's place. And you know, when I argue with that friend of hers, my sister usually says something like "Don't speak about such stuff. I saw a nice dress (or sth) the other day...".

Feminists are just women who are slightly more inteligent then the rest of their gender, and therfore, they say, they're at least equal to men. If anyone understands this statement please let me know, as I find that "therfore" illogical.

And one more thing, perhaps it's the matter of me not understanding the deffinitions understood in the English language, but those, who fight for equal rights are called emancipants, which is not the same as feminists, 'cos the latter fight for domination over men.

I am a feminist and I love porn. I don't think pornography in general is degrading, but if you are talking about porn and the fetishes that are of degrading nature--that's obviously the point of the fetish. i.e. humiliation, scat, blood play. Personally, if the people in the porn get pleasure out of being degraded or get pleasure form whatever they are doing--so long as no one is being forced then it shouldn't be banned. Pedophilia should of course be banned, as should anything involving animals. But if a girl gets her jollys from eating shit then (ew) let her do it.
