Fort Hood Massacre

For those not in the US, Fort Hood is located in the State of Texas, and is the largest US Military base in the world. Fort Hood is also only a stones throw away from the capital.

I am absolutely outraged at this happening, particularly because the main suspect was an officer of the same base. Details are still pending, and my heartfelt condolences go to the of those who were murdered

What a disgrace to America. Whatever the gunman gets is too good for him.

Ugh, just goes to show that there really is inadequate attention given to mentally disturbed patients related to the military. It's disgraceful that this was ever allowed to happen.

I don't believe for a second that it was a random act of violence, but either way that doesn't really excuse the act nevertheless.

Seeing a soldier shooting others in his own base is revolting, but this line...

...made me question the conditions inside the fort. It's still inexcusable though.

Jesus. It's simple. If you don't have the balls to be deployed, stay the fuck out of the military. It always happens right before a battalion is to be deployed.

Just cause you join in a time of peace, does not mean that won't change. I feel no sorrow for the man/men who did this. Regardless of why.

But I am truly sorry about the ones who got killed due to the gunman's weakness. To be killed by someone who is supposed to be on your side, even stationed at the same base as you, is just beyond words.

And before anyone calls the "you don't know what it's like" BS I've been on or around military bases my entire life, I'm enlisted in the Navy, as a Hospital Corpsman, I'm going to go FMF, and get deployed alongside Marines. I have no problem with it.

What a disgrace. I kinda already knew Texas was a shithole, but to drive someone to do this? And I bet the rest of the world will use this story to bad mouth our military for years. And on top of all that, this will make conditions even worse for those who have been following the rules and not fucking up the whole time!

I thought Fort Bragg was the largest American military base.

From what I have been able to gather from the news reports while on the road. The man was a life long Muslim (correct me if he was a recent convert) who became more religious after the death of his mother I think it was about nine years ago or so the Washington post said. Now from there I only know the FBI and local police were investigating him for post he made on the internet comparing suicide bombers in the middle east to soldiers who throw themselves on grenades to protect their fellow soldiers.

My question is, Why did nobody bother to do anything when he was being investigated?

Also did the irony escape anybody that the psychiatrist went crazy and shot people?

The death is actually 13 deaths and 30 injured.
