Well, I choose the dictator because of the fact that it says "No more violence and suffering forever"So basically it wouldn't end up in war? Right? Since a war would bring suffering and violence, breaking the "forever" part.
You are reading it too literally. He's asking us to decide between freedom and all of the problems we'll face or living in a police state.
You are honestly telling me that you would prefer to live in an Orwellian society over being free? Having people tell you what to do, tell you where to work, what your job is, having information held from you, not being allowed to voice your opinion if you disagree with the dictatorship? Not having any privacy (so they can keep everybody "safe"). The list goes on.
Yes, I am honestly saying that I'll rather live under a dictator sacrificing part of my freedom to be able to live in peace, than in an anarchistic world where it's every man for himself, since that is what would happen if everyone got freedom to do whatever they want. Now this case might not be so extreme that freedom will be this absolute, but you see my point?
As it have been said, not all dictatorships must end up with leaders suppressing the people, but they probably will. Like communism, in theory, its fucking utopia, but it does not work in the real life, since it relies on everyones good will, and that no one would want any personal gain.

I agree, to a point, with Chlor. Freedom has it's limits, and causes MORE problems than those created by the dictator scenario. With the dictator, the one single problem would be the dictator himself, provided that the dictator IS doing something that is not for the general well-fair of the country, and there are always ways to solve that issue, though it would be difficult. It's simply a matter of personal priority.
A successful country over a long period of time, or personal, momentary contentment that will inevitably be undone by that same thing from someone else with a twisted mind. Which would you prefer?

Freedom and Peace is a lie. I don't choose any of them since you can never really achieve freedom nor peace (same thing as perfection and such)

If I had to choose one, it would have to be freedom. Peace is nothing without war (though one can say that freedom is nothing without restriction)...

I'd choose freedom. In a dictator's hands no one can have a peace of mind anyway since they feel that they can get arrested anytime for something they don't even know that they've done.

Rather more like it chains into war to be exact, but yeah freedom is awesome.
It's more like the cycle of human nature..
Freedom wins!

Freedom as fighting is human nature and instinct. You can't fight instinct or human nature you can suppress it but it would be temporary. If that instinct, that nature is suppressed for too long when it resurfaces(and it would) and if it was every person on earth being suppressed it would most likely be a massive war of some kind or just an incredible amount of destruction and violence. Either way it would most likely be the end of humanity and/or society. If an animal cannot follow it's instincts it dies and no matter how advanced and intelligent we become we are still just animals.

Living in a dictatorship means you give up ALL freedom, not just a part of it. Besides, it is in the very nature of freedom that you either have all or none. I would always choose freedom, not out of concern for my fellow citizens or because I am noble, just because I HATE being told what to do. And at least in a free country I do not have to worry about being overpowered by my government.

First of, living under a dictator does not necessarily means giving up all freedoms, that's drawing things to an absolute. Just as I do when I say that in a world with absolute freedom, there would be no government to overpower you as the existence of a government wold be restrictive to freedom. The world would be driven by anarchy. Meaning nothing would work, because tell me. Seriously, who here would be willing to work for anything but personal gain?
I don't choose peace over freedom for the sake of my fellow citizen either, I choose because I want peace and order.

You've already drawn the absolute of pure anarchy in the streets with liberty and yet you drive the dictatorship idea only a little. As if that one man would never abuse his power. You wouldn't have cameras in your own home, tracking devices in your car or on your person for everyone's safety. That the Dictator wouldn't brainwash the youth to see him as a god king. That he wouldn't censor any and all ideas he disagreed with regardless of the facts. That everyday your home and person would be searched on a daily basis or that anything you "own" could be taken from you at a moments notice without reason.
If you want this to be fair, then you have to use the same extreme for dictatorship as you do liberty.

I would choose freedom personally. I think that the fact that we are able to decide what we want to do with our lives and how we want to live it are one of the most substantial things that make us humans.
Living in a dictatorship means that the burocracy, that is usually in place to govern us, is making each and every person a transparent being, the state can use your data in any way they like and if a dictator says "your guilty" than there is no law that can help you, while in a normal society you have almost always an option of going another way or using your own personal rights to work out a solution.
Last but not least, not having freedom would also mean that you wouldn't have the freedom to choose your job etc and that would screw up things considerably in my opinion. Picking your education / job, choosing who you want to live with and how are some of the most important things in ones life and there would be missing something if we weren't able to do that.

Forever? You would seriously give up your own welfare to the benefit of others? I doubt you would if you somehow winded up in this situation.

I pushed the freedom to the same extreme that those I answered did with dictatorship.

Just as I do when I say that in a world with absolute freedom, there would be no government to overpower you as the existence of a government wold be restrictive to freedomI even admitted that I pushed it to an extreme, and when I did not push the dictatorship to an extreme, I just did the same as the others did with liberty. Right?
And frankly, just what the hell do you mean that I don't deserve freedom OR safety. Yes, I admit that I am a coward and that I choose safety over freedom. (And as long as you are no puffed-up, self-righteous douche you should have no problem with this.)I would do this any day if it came to an extreme situation like this. Because it would benefit me more than living in a free, but harsh world where I would get nothing without working my ass of.
As for the surveillance things. As long as I have nothing to hide, or as long as I ain't stupid enough to make my opposing ideas know to the public until I've gained enough power myself to fight of the dictator I have nothing to fear right?
Even if you push both side to their extreme, I will still choose the dictator. Because that would benefit me more, and it would be safer for me.
Of course I don't WANT to live under a dictator. But I believe it to be the lesser of two evils.

Then call me a puffed-up self-righteous douche for looking down on you for such an asinine decision. You'd rather life in a tiny box like some caged animal, then ever have to deal with the hardships of life.

Freedom with war: I guess due to the word "free", the reason can be good or bad so I guess it's a neutral statement.
Dictatorship with everlasting peace: Nice but, once the dictatorship becomes corrupt, it would be hopeless unless there's a coup, in our country, dictatorship ended helped by a coup. Or be lucky that your country gets conquered by a nicer government.

Has there ever been a dictatorship which has brought peace (without discrimination, hatred, etc) ??

I'd just stick with a percentage of freedom and a percentage of government. You mean, what most countries in the world have now (including the US), right? Sounds like a good choice to me.
Seriously, how is it possible to say that giving up any freedom is bad, and that a person who is willing to do so deserves nothing, but willingly live in a country where freedom is sacrificed for the sake of safety? And that happens all the time in every civilized country. Airport security, for example. Sure, it's a restriction of my freedom to make my stand in a line for a long time and go through all the bullshit, but I don't mind it, since without it, someone could easily bring a gun on the plane and hijack it to Cuba or something.

Dictatorship with ever lasting peace? There is no peace. Just a prep time between wars. Freedom is definitely something to fight for. "It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees!" Whoever said that is my fucking hero.
