Hunting Wild Hogs... in an Inhumane Manner?
0
Here's the issue:
FPS Russia (youtube account that I'm subscribed to) posted this vid of someone hunting wild hogs that have already slaughtered three children in Texas. Apparently, people got mad, saying what he did in the video was 'inhumane.' Although I don't really agree with him taking the ears as trophies, he wasn't doing anything wrong. Hell, he (FPS Russia) Posted this message over the video:
Be warned this video isnt for everyone its violent and bloody, but if you like hunting and you have a sick sense of humor it might be for you.
Stupid right?

Wild pigs are very destructive and can be dangerouse. some places put bounties on pest animals(meaning you can get paid for each one you kill). at first i thought the ears might be for bounty proof, but i think the dude is just immature. as for it being inhumane, he didn't cut the ears off until the pigs were dead. as far as the video shows, his kills were pretty clean. he only had to finish off that one with a head shot at the end.
the only people who find this offensive are probably peta-philes to begin with. they'd still probably cry if the pigs were killed completely painlessly, like by morphine overdose or something.

Inhumane? We do such to our opponents of war who partake in the shedding of our blood as well and as far as I can see, that's justified.Besides, if we can kill a sentient human why not this destructive pig?Wish salvation on these beasts all you want, equality shall be their death.

What part of this is "inhumane"? Wild pigs are a real problem in many parts of Texas and beyond. They can kill small children as said in the video and they can, and will, completely destroy farmland when they dig into the ground for tubers and such. I don't see why this guy was taking ears but he's done that community a service in killing those pigs.

Has a man who hunts feral pigs, not for sport but because it a more humane thing to do because the hogs ruin farm and forest land. When i do bag a pig i do eat all the good meat and use the meat to feed people like the local food bank.. we get like 4 tags per year.. avg weight of a valley hog is 100-300 pounds so let's say i get for 200 pounders subtract half in waste and blood... that more meat then i can eat. Plus they cause 19million dollars worth of damage to the local farmers... at least i eat them.

Not inhumane, nope, wild life that is dangerous and damages property should be hunted down.
But... is hunting with assault rifles legal in US?(Might as well got with a 50 cal sniper next)
The fact that assault rifles are legal is ridiculous enough.

pfft like i care if a pig gets shot?
Eye for an eye, like they said 3 kids were killed so we kill them, hunting is one of humans favorite pasttime, i see no reason to stop it?
Ofc taking the ears was a bit weird, but i really dont care xD

There was no inconvenience caused, but thanks for at least giving me a trial period.

Wild hogs are ferociously territorial, completely fearless and extremely difficult to kill. They had killed 3 children, so they had already proven themselves to be a menace and a threat. Some might say it would be 'Humane' to relocate such creatures, but once they cross the line and kill, it becomes a different story. You would not want to use a tranquilizer or a shotgun to take down a wild pig, for they lack range and stopping power, and you don't want to be near a ticked-off 300+ pound killing machine. The bloodiness might be disturbing, and the trophy taking immature, but what was done was necessary and in the best interests of public safety.

I don't think it was an assult rifle as i never saw it fire full auto. you may be confusing terms with the catch all 'assult weapons'. but lets not derail this thread into a gun control feud.

Not turning it into a debate.
Most likely a semi-auto M4 clone, a 'M4gery' as it were. No full-auto, so not an assault rifle. In most states it is legal to own a full-auto weapon, however one must submit to an ATF screening and what amounts to a 3-6 month waiting period. One must notify the ATF when travelling out of state, or when moving permanently.
I'm not a Texas resident so I don't know the specifics. Most states specify magazine capacity and terminal energy of the bullet, none do so of the appearance. an example is that many states prohibit calibers smaller than .30 and magazines greater than 5 rounds (for hunting). Then there are states that let you hunt with whatever you want. AR-15 rifles with heavy barrels are popular for smaller animals ("varmints") and some have hunted with higher-end AK-47 clones.

I wouldn't really call this hunting. While it is, technically, the killing of an edible animal; this amounts to extermination. Pest control, as you would (make that should) see in buildings with cockroach issues.
And, I actually think high caliber rifles are more humane, as they are less likely to wound without killing. You would be surprised how many deer end up running around for weeks on end, because some jackass didn't want to bother tracking them. This applies doubly to pest control, as the unfair advantage adds to the exterminator's personal safety, and the effectiveness of your solution.

I don't really see a problem with hunting a pest animal. Taking the first's ear while it was alive was a bit inhumane, but it's no different from an animal eating a kill before it dies. If you don't like what you're seeing, don't watch it. Plain and simple.

And yet, we 'civilized humans' will kill each other over nothing. It's quite difficult for some animals to drop after one shot, which is why some prefer the use of faster shooting guns as opposed to the use of regulation guns. Besides, what makes humans different from animals?

Wild hogs kill three children and people whine about killing them in any form to be inhumane?
Are these people retarded? Oh wait, it's probably PETA so I guess that would answer my question about that considering they have released feral hogs back into the wild after being contained for safety reasons. Trespassing while doing so of course.
Who the hell cares how the damn hogs are being killed. They are a very real danger especially to children. Kill the fuckers in any way you want as long as it's only them.

I advocate the humane killing of wild hogs despite what they have done for the same reason I'm opposed to the death penalty. It's just pointless savagery that serves no justice or purpose other than to sate a carnal desire for revenge. We, as human beings, need to be better than animals.
And @fadetoblack, not all humans are civilized. The backbone of civilization is people working by an agreed upon set of rules to better the collective. those people choose to exclude themselves from civilized society, and thus are by definition uncivilized.

Correction: the real backbone of any society is the corruption that builds up that society. If you don't believe me, think about how America was founded. It wasn't truly founded on those principals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but on stealing, killing, and claiming what is ours because 'God ordained it.'Everything that we know was built on destroyed families and broken bodies.
Sure, we have some that want to purify society so it can become the utopia we believe it to be yet this will not happens so long as human nature exists.
