Idealism ?!

So, when i try to make a story about idealism people ... some question passed my mind
what is an ideal ?
OP goes first ,
In my point of view, an ideal is a principle that used to be goals for the one who bear it ..
and,
when someone try to against your ideal, you will do whatever necessary to defend it ..
No ideal can be said by 100% right or 100% wrong .. because there will be someone who against it and the one who understand and appreciate it ..
aside from that, every people have ideal .. to each his own ,
mine is into more pessimistic ways because i have too many sad nor bad things happened in my past .. my past made me like this ..
on the shorter note, my ideal comes from experience ... especially the bad ones
Question here :
What is your ideal ?
How did you obtain your ideal ?
What is an ideal to you ? or to make it clear, define ideal in your way

My Ideal is that shit happens and people just have to accept that you know.
You have to be able to forgive your past or else you will never be able to go any where in life. but remeber that forgeting and forgiving isnt the same thing.
I used to try and forget about my past and I was nevet actually able to do it and I lived a good portion of my life in sorrow then one day this guy told me that I had to forgive, accept, and live on not to try and forget about everything that has happened to me.
EDIT: and I was able to and I think I live a pretty much happy and meaningfull life.
I got this Ideal because I have had a lot a shit happen in the past that I dont like getting into and an ideal is a view that someone has on life so ya there you go

I don't care about ideals, I just go with the flow of life. Anyways everybody has different ideals even though it maybe similar to others.

Well...lets see. ok.
What is your ideal?
My ideal is, enjoy the life as much as i can, of course that means that i have not only one goal to achieve, i have many goals in my life some of them i already got it and unfortunately some other of goals i could not make it happen.
Some of my goals for example are to finish my carrer in the army, which am about to achieve, and retire and have a good life with other objetives, thats why am learning lenguages.
How did you obtain your ideal?
I think perseverance is the key to reach any ideal, as long you persist on your ideals eventually you will keep it and finally obtain it.
Sometimes the path to achieve wont be easy, you will find obstacles, problems, and many things in your way, but again as long as you persist and dont give up at the end you will be proud of your effort.
They say: "The things that are most difficult to achieve are the things that you will be most proud about". Or something like that. lol.
What is an ideal for you?
Ok, i will quote an anime, Claymore.
In my opinion an ideal for me its a: "Raison d'ĂȘtre" (reason for being).
and i guess everybody has their objetives, their goals in the life thats the reason that moves the world, a better life, finish the school, give a best life to our family, fix this world, dunno so many of them.
In simple words, for me, an ideal its your goal, your objetive, what you will do with your life.
Sorry if am complicated...but thats just me.

Ideal? First things that came across my mind is an image of what I desired most in life, for example : Ideal occupation, ideal life, ideal health, etc. you name it.
The other word to describe it : Dreams
I believed that we could achieve anything, began with a thought, regardless of how positive and negative the thought is, it'll definitely happen in the future.
The thought manifested into reality, the reality becomes your true destiny. You reap what you sow, the end.
And yeah, if you're wondering where did I get the inspiration. It's from the book called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It's the main inspiration, for the other readings you oould ask me.

I think of "ideals" as being synonymous to "personal morals" or "beliefs". That being said, I guess my ideals in living life are: integrity, kindness, and open-mindedness.
I'm not really sure where those ideals came from. I think they just gradually grew on me as I struggled through a rough period during my mid-teen years. I learned a lot of important lessons my last two years of high school and first year of college. It took me a long time, but I think I finally began to mature during that time haha.

What is your ideal ?
I'm a libertarian I believe that everyone should be able to do whatever they want besides kill steal assualt and other such generic stuff.
How did you obtain your ideal ?
Half of my Dad, Half of my reading habits. My dad has always taught me to respect and be nice of other peoples beliefs however my Dad is a massive ellitiest who seems to be stuck with a case of cognative dissonance where he believes in freedom BUT only after the masses have been educated(then again he argued that an ideal world would be Plato's republic *shudders*) I agreed with him in part but I always liked the concept that anyone should be able to do what they want it seemed fair.
What is an ideal to you?
an Ideal to me is purely subjective. I'm essentially a nihilist in belief too alturistic in principal to be a nihilist though (HAH). But really ideals are just things that are put into our heads by our enviroment and genes nothing more.

From what i can read here , i see interesting point that help to keep my theory that Idealism can be obtained by people you respect ...
Other interesting points i can get is that you get your Ideal when you are being an adult ... or you consider your self as an adult
and ..
you have some kind of theory to support your statement ?
doesn't mean i against you , i think about it too ...
but,
yep .. i don't know how to explain it clearly

I was thinking about politicians who say one thing while trying to get elected, but then do something else when in place. or religiuos zealots who say things like 'god is love', but then hate and be mean to people who don't share their beliefs.

Kinda remember that happen in my country as well ... but i think personally that their idealism is weak, since they easily changed it ... it just too situational ... or it was just a lie from start
as expected from obvious politician
Radical idealism ,
well yes .. some people just need a bunch of peeps to cover his/her back to be radical ...
Idealism = Ideology
They defend their ideal in a hardcore way .... gotcha
so in short, you got your definition for ideal from whatever happened around you .. or to be more precise, you see something and make a summary by it ..
nice additional information for me

What is your ideal ?
Every single individual acts on egoism, help yourself, make friends with many, but don't trust easily.
Anything that relates to money, does not relate to conscious. Helps someone up, give motivation to others, advice others people on problems, but won't donate a single cent to charity fund unless it's for Corporate Social Responsibility to minus tax.
My family is the best of all, since it's the only one I have.
How did you obtain your ideal ?
Influence by home education, schooling education, book reading, friends circle, experience with happy/sad love/betrayal meaningful/boring events throughout my time.
What is an ideal to you ?
Something like ethics, which is influenced by various external factors from above. Self induced after acceptance in which believing that that is the right way we should live our own lives.
It's not constant, as more changes apply into our lives, some old ideals are replaced by newer ideals.

It's kinda funny. I used to rant a lot about idealism and viewed myself as heartless opportunist...but actually, it seems that I have a pretty strong idealistic streak in me. Or at least, that's what some of my friends say.
What is your ideal? For mankind to get it's act together and stop squabbling over petty things like religions, nationalism, languages etc. I would like to see a world where people have at least little regard to public service and duty, rather than current "every man for himself" bullshit. I wish for enlightened public-service oriented society basically.
How did you obtain your ideal? Through interest in Roman times (very slight, but still) and numerous fictions which describe societies like that. And through the combination of my experiences and ideas of several people that I value.
What is the ideal for you? A principle or goal in life that we aspire to.

What is your ideal ?
Cheesy or whatever, my ideal is something like Love + Wisdom -> Happiness.
How did you obtain your ideal ?
Hard to say. It feels so natural in me. I won't deny I got it from my past/environment etc, but I can't pinpoint the event where I actually "got" it.
What is an ideal to you
The principle that my ideal self is an epitome of.
