I'm kind of on the fence; I'll talk to people if we have something to talk about. Otherwise I just sort of keep to myself. Here's a relevant quote for the hardcore introvert

Ahhh...I must be introverted. Life is cockblocking me. =(
Though I dont consider myself that bad. I like being friendly as I'am but because I didnt get out much after hitting 13 it stuck. And now even if I go out for a long period of time or have the time of my life I still wanna go back to that nice calm. I would love it if I could go to that calm and there'd be a friend who felt the same way but thats not my situation.

I'm somewhere in the middle. people who know me for a long time say i'm introverted because i spend a lot of time alone and i don't talk much. on the other hand, i have no problem going out in public and dealing with random people. i even worked in sales for a time.

I recently accepted my introvertness and quite happy by it. Ever since I can remember I always tried to make friends and tried to be social because I feared that being a loner meant you were kind of a loser. However, as time went by I realized that I couldn't shake off the fact that I disliked being around people I wasn't close with. Not that I was uncomfortable, but because I just didn't find most people interesting.
I hear so much crap come out of people's mouths everyday. Gossip, backstabbing, trash talk, immature boasting, I didn't want to be involved with this type of useless stuff. As a result, I choose my friends very very carefully.
Im the type of guy who would love having just a couple (2-4) very close friends who I could talk about anything with as opposed to someone who has a ton of "friends", but none who truly know who you are or even take the time to find out.
Once I stopped resisting and embraced my introvert side I actually gained a lot of confidence and positive outlooks. No more feeling the need to impress people who I barely know, no more being self conscious about how I appear to others, its really a breathe of fresh air.
If people hate me, its their problem not mine. However, I also learned that a lot of people prey on the weak in this world. If you don't stand up for yourself, someone will eventually take advantage of you. As a result I developed the mentality: If you mess with me, ill unleash all hell on you.

ESFP.
I'm an extrovert. I love people, I love social situations. I love having a laugh and being positive. Odd as it sounds, I get very lonely by myself and I prefer having someone there.
Which now when I think about it, was the total opposite about 3, 4 years ago. Hum.

Well I took 3 different test and they all said I was an introvert yet i think they were a bit subjective and in some ways inaccurate, but I digress.
I do like being alone but its nice to have the occasional company. I enjoy my surroundings when I go on longs walks but I also go into deep thoughts.
It's just something about labeling and wanting to be known as something kinda(well not that much) bothers me. I am who I am. I usually base my decisions on facts yet I could see things from others perspective or past experiences.
Although its nice to detach yourself from reality everyone in a while.

Introvert; big surprise, right? There does seem to be a certain correlation between being reclusive and "teh brain powers"; just don't go all Unabomber on us, alright?

introvertbut hey, most people with IQ > 130 is an introverted geek so, who cares
Don't like answer. I know you said "most", but plenty of intelligent people handle social lives just fine :|
Anyway, I'm an extrovert, irl I'm typically the one driving the conversations for everyone. I've always been a social butterfly and for some reason, I tend to coax even introverts out of their shell for a while. Someone once told me that I have a presence that comforts people into feeling they belong.
I think I'm just very positive and people are drawn to positivity. I can't remember a time when I haven't been that way. Even as a kid my mom said I would run up to strangers and say hi and be friendly : )

Introvert, good enough to conclude that.
Well, i thought i see someone said that most people with IQ > 130 is an introverted geek.
With that being said, i have to agree, perhaps.
I am not very socialist and tend to stay away from community.
The reason is because of my "not going so well' relation with the community at my early days .. I know it sounds so stupid to get your past haunting you all along but whatever with that.
Talking to the one who talk to me .. respect someone who respect me .. pretty much sum my way of social life.
Introvert people always think before talking .. which i personally think this is one of pros from being an introvert.
One thing i am envious by most extroverts is they can take things in positive way while i always take things in negative and use worst case scenario as the motive.
But each personality have their own benefit perhaps .. and somehow i felt happier this way even though some people said that i need to be more socialist and less skeptical.
Outgoing introvert sounds intriguing.

I got ISTJ on the test, so I guess I am an introvert. Oddly enough, I don't feel like one but I also don't think the test was wrong.

The one who know who you the best is yourself .. perhaps you can describe what would be your attitude , your way of thinking for certain things and what is your response for anything related to social-life.
I thought you can summarize it by your description.

I'm definitely an extrovert; I don't really feel comfortable without people around me.

I generally swing between INTP and INFP on the MBTI. Yes, I am one HELL of an introvert, but I can be coaxed out of my shell by people like Circe. I tend to have a chameleonic personality and change how I act depending on who I'm hanging out with. This is why I like being alone, because then I can be myself.
