maybe it's time for all of the worlds nations to unite, during these dark ages of mankind?
One of my friends came up with the supject, when we where at a party, and i have to say, it is an pretty interesting idea, maybe then we could focus on other things than petty borderlines issues.

It will never happen so to answer your question no.

When racism, sexism, superiority complexes, human inequality, unfair wealth distribution, unfair laws, love of violence, nuclear weapons, energy consumption, hatred and various other negative points are cast aside, only then can the human race unite. Not to mention that almost 80% of the 60 billion people that populate this planet are xenophobic.

The world already tried to unite to promote peace and global prosperity. That's partly how the United Nations was born.
Charter of the United Nations
Chapter 1 Article 1
And why the UN is the way it currently is
Its going to take a common enemy to get the entire world to collectively work together. Like an alien invasion or Skynet level event would have to happen to get us to toss all of whats bold-italicized above to the side. The sad thing is people will die to make us realize this.

Everyone has their own differing opinions and beliefs. On that basis, no they won't.

World Unity is an impossibility. There will always be one little faction that will take it upon itself to be a Contrarian and reject the ideas of all others. As harsh as it seems, this is just how the world is.

all i am saying, is that humanity needs to evolve beyond it's old ways of thinking.

Another thread about world peace...
Oh, boy...
As long as we lust for one that belongs to another...
And we have excess and are not willing to share with those who have to do without on a daily basis...
As long as we desire to reach the top and forget the ones that helped us to get there...
And we see people in need and not lift one finger to help them...
As long as we shut our eyes to the world, not seeing the joys it has to offer...
And we draw weapons at each other instead of try to understand each other's differences...
As long as we try to obsessively try to gain attention, rather than let it come to us...
Tranquility will be the lone flower...
Rotting in the battlefield that is the Human Emotion.

I'm just saying that this topic has been brought up a few times in SD and the answer is always the same:
"World peace will never exist because everyone will always disagree on something."

Or you could simply scapegoat a particular group or perhaps a good half or chunk of the world and destroy them and whoevers left would be united.
But seriously, free thought and expression is the absolute enemy of unity.Unless such things can be held into place by an equivalent power, the only thing to do with any thought of unity is to discard it in the flames of everlasting war and bloodshed.Humanity will never unite as individuality is a common resource that allows our existence and to pull up to play simple free rationality with the equal expression example, if all of humanity wished something and one person had a logical reason to oppose that wish, it would be wrong. In summary, cast enough of the world in the shadow of complete utilitarianism or blaze alight within the fires of the ever hungry social furnace.
Edit:you mentioned resources and problems currently in world being enough?
Meh empirics prove they don't matter, not only have they not destroyed us before but it's proven humanity is indifferent towards such feeble problems. No matter how much stress you put on death, anxiety is meant to be a great survival instinct, it has no impact or magnitude. What you can do is threaten people, direct application is the only solution. How you may do that is up to you, whether it be warmongering, brutality, enhancing public sociopacy, etc.Really and to get back to point for this issue alone, resources are not an issue, human greed is.We have enough resources to sustain the world if they weren't diverted or choked(whether it be the new renewable oil sources caused by non biological mass being incinerated by techtonic movements or water, which often is the point of the controversial "water wars" we have it, but without personal gain, what use is it to share it?)
