Is There a Point to Finding Meaning in Life?

One can find meaning to make themselves feel better, but other then that, there is no reason to have meaning. Lots of people go through there whole life without meaning but still have a very wounderful life. Personally I have no meaning in my life and I see no meaning coming to me, I enjoy life enough not to care about what my meaning is.You just won the game, kid.

I'm sure someone's mentioned this by now, but the reason people look for meaning is probably because they don't see any reason to do things that have no meaning in them.

My belief if we find the meaning of life then there is no reason to live.
Life is a mystery and needs to stay that way.

I believe the meaning of life is big beautiful round breasts of a woman!
The only thing that is real...

Thinking too much too find a meaning in your life is worthless.
This world is full of fraud and terror. It's best to live your life to the fullest without knowing what does it mean.

Depends in the broadest sense as a group, your meaning is relatively simple, live and reproduce. On an individual level I don't think anyone is satisfied with just living because you can live and be poor but not have things. If survival and reproduction were your only meaning, in my opinion you'd work to make lots of money and use that money to get women to reproduce because that seems most efficient right now to me if that's all I felt I was meant to do. I'd like to find a meaning outside of that.

I don't think there is an existing "meaning of life" to which must be enacted. I don't believe in the meaning of life that people are seeking to find, I believe in the meaning of life as to how you construct your life. What you choose to do with your life is the meaning to your life. In other words, you must find the meaning to your life yourself.
If there was one single meaning to life that we must all follow the world would be like North Korea: having to follow one path while being monitored by Big Brother to observe our every movement, and if we step off the path then punishment is inevitable. Would there be such things as (individual) "lives" if there was only one meaning to life, or would we be just one big life trying to accomplish that meaning? On the other hand, would we have to follow this path? We should be glad there isn't some kind of single path which we must walk down (though obviously and unfortunately this is the case in poorer countries where it is the only thing they can do); but again, it's how we lead our lives, and that is the meaning.

This isn't a discussion of what the meaning to life is, or even if there is one. This is about why people feel the need to give everything a meaning, even life itself. It's a phenomenon that puzzles me to a ridiculous extent. Personally, I don't need meaning in my life; I seek pleasure with sprinkles of self-awareness and self-preservation hither and thither. Why does life need a meaning? Why can't some people just have some fun?
Because people are stupid and think that the universe and everything that comes with it is there to accommodate for us (humans).
There is no point in finding the meaning of life since it probably does not exist. Even if it does exist what are you going to do with it if you know it? Are you going to follow it strictly according to it? That my friend is called religion which I despise and do not believe in.

I always felt that the point of finding the meaning of life is to find the things that make you happy during your journey. Once you find said happiness you most likely while forget all about your quest to find said life meaning and your mind will be satisfied with the happiness you will have found during your journey.

Yes. But that's just me.
Because we all need it, without it; we just think "What's the point of this?" sometimes, especially when we're feeling really down.
I know for certain that I thought about suicides a lot. But just never... did it. Sometimes you need some serious motivation to live with a "meaning" in life. If you don't have one, search for it. I know I am.

Finding a meaning of life is pointless, because everyone has their own meaning and live it their own way. Making any general reason totally redundant. Me personally i don't need a reason to live, but i am too spiteful to just lie down and die.
Which i guess is the same for all of us in one way or another.

Life is what it is. It is more important that we find something meaningful in life worth pursuing than it is to find some existential definition of what it means to be alive. If there is a greater meaning, the only way to find it is to live. There might be a meaning to life, but its not something you can find by looking for it.
