is there an afterlife?

Both the existance and inexistance of an afterlife are possible. It's just a matter of probability, seeing as how we don't yet have the knowledge, technology and, possibly, comprehension to actually demonstrate wether or not an afterlife (or why not beforelife) truly exists. So, currently, we can only resume to theories.

I don't know what happens after I die, but I will find out when I kick the bucket. Something is probably there, but fucked if I know what, and until I kick the bucket, I won't know. Kinda hoping it is like Angel beats, but I know that won't be the case unfortunately.

this poses a very very serious question to me as im an atheist. i dont believe there is some all powerful being who knows everything were going to do even before we do. but at the same time i want to believe in some sort of afterlife because of gohsts. i know they exist, my own house is haunted more and more people are believing in them with the huge amount of evidence to support it. but still. i how do we know there is an afterlife. If you Atheist, the afterlife is doesn't exist because afterlife is concept that created by people who believe in God and great beyond to justify their Faith. or you can say the Illusion they need to defend their faith. for extreme case is confinced themself that their fucking faith is not wasted.

to understand the after life you must believe first in god. and if you decide that. you'll know my religious answer about afterlife.
oh forgot in scientific afterlife does exist. the death of one indiviual means a life for a thousand individual. like bacteria, fungi, virus, parasite.
end of explanation. I hope you satisfy with my explanation

I don't really think so. Though I was brought up to believe differently. I guess some people accept things while others do not. I suppose there is a bit, if not a lot of proof, but I just don't think about things like that. Rather, I don't bother in worrying about an afterlife.

Think of it as this way. As atoms can never be destroyed and take millions of years to decay, all the atoms in your body of when you die will become apart of something new. This could be thought of an afterlife in someway, well at least to me.
After studying astronomy and universal theories of the universe i have come to see my life in a new light. To see on this incomprehensible scale, just how insignificant my own life holds to the cosmos. For me to believe that I and we as humankind, are special enough on what we are not even a dot on the scale of universe, to hold a afterlife is hard to conceive personally. Plus i mean, one of the laws of the universe is that when death and destruction ensue, new life and prosperity rise from its ashes. I mean without a previous supernova explosion of a past star, who's orbiting planets could've harbored living organisms as well, our solar system and eventually our sun, earth and life as we know it would've never came to be.
I also on a more human and social scale think the idea of an afterlife is stupid. It seems like an excuse to me. An excuse for people to try and slack off in life. People won't fully push their lives to be what they can be because of the trail of thought in things like an afterlife. Life is short, sweet, and is what you make it to be.
