More anti-gun stupidity, this time from Sussex, NJ

This burns me so bad. Illogical, lie-induced, random shit-canning madness. Illegally vague rules, warrant-less searches, and stupid legislation. Enjoy the raging to follow.
What I hate is not necessarily how the law is enforced, but how it came about, with the ban proponents intentionally misleading legislators into passing something completely useless.

First rule of politics
"If you can't win with logic, lie your bloody ass off."
First you distort or misrepresent the truth and then you merely hold your ground until people become complacent with the change they hated so much. It's one of the reason people don't hate income tax, Patriot Act or public education in America. They have just gotten used to it looming over their heads.
As for violating a person's second amendment rights. They aim to take away your rights so they can push you around. It's not a difficult concept to grasp and yet, it seems to elude so many. If you wanted to subjugate a group of people, what is the first thing you do? You take away their ability to defend themselves. It's depressing to know that there are intelligent people walking around with their heads filled to the brim with such propaganda.

Actually, I don't think it is that people get used to it. I don't think the general populace ever cared in the first place. That may be a sad truth, but that is just the way it is with hot topic issues. For all the strong opinions each side may have, the silent majority isn't talking because they aren't listening.
sv51macross you point out to me 2nd amendment violations I would never of heard of or believed if you didn't post about it though. Maybe because I'm from the south, I can hardly imagine anyone taking away our guns. I think the day that happened, there would be many dead Feds - and I say Feds because I think the local police would back us on keeping our guns. Too many hunters down south in love with their guns.

Well not just hunters though. The 'Eviiilll Black Rifles' have place too.
Personal interpretation of 2nd amendment follows.
Spoiler:
Black rifles, so called 'assault weapons' [what you mean a LAW rocket?] are covered under the Federal constitution (and in the case of Michigan, specifically allowed by the State ('The right of the people to bear arms for defense of oneself and of the state')). In addition, the adage 'When seconds count, the police are minutes away' is very poignantly true. Add in Warren Vs. DC and the breakdown of social order during natural disasters (Rodney King riots, Katrina, ect) and the need for military-style semiautos is apparent.
Spoiler:
Here's a link to the 'myths' page on the NRA/ILA website. They thoroughly, with real statistics, debunk pro-gun-control theories. Another thing that pisses me off. Gun-control proponents have to manipulate the statistics and lie, using fear-tactics and such to convince the public and politicians.

Personally I'd much rather try to educate the public and politicians before resorting to an armed march.

OR.... it could be a peaceful armed march. We all strap ourselves with Assualt rifles and peacefully march down to the white house. The secret service will freak... "Well technically it is within their rights..." "Yeah but the got rocket launchers man!!!"
Rights are like muscles, you got to use em or you lose em.

You missed the panic this summer when gun owners were showing up to those townhalls packing heat?

That was hilarious. Chris in Arizona, man did he have balls. The media sure had fun with him though.

I would read your link but it's not from a real fact checked media site, or even the NRA directly so I highly doubt its authenticity.
Anyway, on topic. I can see the pros and cons of assault weapons. Pros: I can now take down the government when they come to take my assault weapons. Cons: the only people who actually buy assault weapons are criminals and slack jawed yokels who spout what I placed in the pro slot. That being said, I am ok with people legally owning assault weapons of any type. Rifles, shot guns, sniper rifles, the whole gambit. I may not like the idea that people feel the need to arm themselves to the teeth but hey, as long as they are responsible and sane it should be ok.
My views on gun laws.

Spoiler:
I would like to make a couple of remarks here.
1: I am offended to an extent by your opinion of those who wish to owen so-called 'assault weapons' (technically, the application of the term to military-style semi-automatics is a purely political thing, assault weapons actually define such things as the Javelin and AT4 rocket launchers). Tactical carbines and derivatives as such are perfectly legitimate for self defense and are actually advisable for those who are (either socially or geographically) removed from prompt police response. They are not just the purvey of revolutionary ijit-heads or 'slack-jawed yokels'.
2: Conceal carry is a form of discretion. IMO, open carry serves two purposes; civil demonstration or penile enhancement. One needs not parade the fact one is armed and it is oftentimes inappropriate to do so.
3: There is such overwhelming evidence that gun-free zones just don't work. All the mass shootings in the news? Gun-free zones. Plus, as satirical as it is, this FOX vid rings some truth.

4: Lastly, to an extent they [grenades, rocket-launchers, ect] are legal to own. They require NFA registration with BATFE, the heavy-duty background check, and the $200 tax stamp (per grenade, so it's a very expensive hobby to have).
