Oscar Grant: know the name?

has anyone heard of how this guy named Oscar Grant got shot by a police officer for NO GOOD REASON in oakland? when oscar was shot, he was unarmed, he was screaming quote; "please dont shoot! i have kids and a family, dont shoot, please!" end quote: and he was face down, and a cop shot him for no reason. he was not resisting, he was not doing anything wrong. he was just shot for no reason, in cold blood. in fact a day ago riots broke out in oakland for his unecessary death. he was being arrested for a fight that happened on a subway train, reportedly. is it just me, or is there anyone else who is angered by this?
the following is a youtube video about it. also the cop who shot him said that he was reaching for his tazer gun. correct me if im wrong, but dont police keep their guns and tazers on opposite sides of their belt?

Here's a news story about it:

This is bullshit. Mehserle should be locked up with no chance for parole.
Reaching for his taser? Like that makes any difference. He still killed a man. If I killed a cop because I had a gun in my hand when I thought I had a sandwich, would I not have to go to jail? Accidental murder is still murder.
But it sounds like the cop didn't even need to use his taser. Grant wasn't resisting and didn't seem dangerous. Mehserle was going to taser Grant for kicks? Bullshit.

Normally, I would give a typical cop reasonable doubt when they shoot someone in a scuffle but, in this situation. I can see no reason for reach for his weapon nor use the damn thing. Even if he accidently grabbed a gun instead of a tazer. Why did the man need to be tasered? The video clearly shows the man no resisting. You don't use a taser on a man when he isn't resisting. If the guy was high on pcp and attacked the cop. Then the cop pulls fire arm instead of taser by accident. Then shoots the druggie, I find it acceptable, slap his wrist, maybe put him on desk duty for a while.
This event, punish the cop harshly just short of crucifying him on the side of the road.

How could someone even confuse a stun gun with a real one? Wouldn't he have the gun's safety on while he was storing it. Thats a horrible excuse.
All this talk of sandwiches is making me hungry.

Here in my country, I've seen far more worse incidents revolving cops.
Torture, salvage, extortion shoot-out/rub-out, innocent civilians getting involved and killed... and the victims nor the prosecuted are not given appropriate justice and punishment.
~this country is HOPELESS!~
