Ok, there is probably a post on something like this BUT a mod can delete it if there is. =D
So,.... religion does any one else feel that all it is is just philosophies?
I mean seriously isn't a philosophy a way of life ?
I don't understand why many people over exemplify religion as a justification for things if its a way of life...
I personally believe the term "GOD" is a metaphor for our existence not some magical being that floats on a cloud with a fishing poll and a camera * yes mario *
But, you know its really what ever i just am puzzled at overly hateful atheists that bash on religion and then religious fanatics who preach this shit and shun all non believers, are people SOOOO lost they need to resort to ignorant ways to sum up for their hypocrisy.
I always thought of religion as something like philosophy from the han dynasty teaching people values in life and lessons i just never believed that any of it was factual. they used every day people as an example for ways to live things that happen and such.
And then the athiests are like OMIGAWD RELIGION BAAAAAAAAAD personally i think the atheists are a buncha heretics but not all are a majority that bash on every thing and its not in the religious manor more like they are heretical to human kind it self they with their hate apathy and not wanting to believe in SOMETHING to keep them giving a helping hand in the world.
I'm not saying believe in religion for that majority im saying find something that you can believe in and set it as your standard and values
though I think I lost my train of though like while I was typing this I hope many of you understand what I'm trying to ask and say. I am pretty lost my self not knowing where to go what to do its just demoralizing to me. So i guess i should not really come to place judgements on others but you know what I DONT GIVE A * censored* "This show has been canceled due to the foul language"
but any ways any one got any other opinions on this matter?

Can I get this out of the way though if you write in the serious section don't constantly try to be "liek totaly randum" no need of stuff like " I DONT GIVE A * censored* "This show has been canceled due to the foul language""

Well, first this topic is going a bit all over the place. So 1st let's try and work out exactly what is Philosphy I see philosphy as the study of general and fundamental problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. The fact is that a philosphy isn't a way of life it's a way of looking at life. You can believe in something yet do something else to put it simply.
Secondly,"I think Atheists are a bunch of Heretics" well... duh it's almost as if... ATHEISTS DON'T BELIEVE IN ANY RELIGION. Though i'm sure you meant some sort of generic insult there.I feel like it's pointless going into a WHICH IS WORSE ANNOYING ATHEISTS OR ANNOYING THEISTS.

i do have rather strong opinions about religion. but the OP doesn't feel serious so i'll refrain from expressing my self here. not trying to sound to harsh, but, go back to english class.

I'm gonna take a Reformed Judaism stance here.
"It's up to the person to choose what they believe in and how to act out their beliefs. Nothing spiritual is real except what you want to be real."
Perhaps I'm answering the wrong question here, but I really like that statement because it's from one of the oldest religions ever made. And it uses the Bible as it's source too.
Christians and religious people need to know that if there is a God, it's not going to be the same for everyone. The definition of hell in Christianity is "a place of eternal suffering, torture, and pain". My funny way of responding to this is "What if the person's a masochist?". By that logic, hell is no longer hell for that person. So hell must be a different type of suffering for every person that goes there. Likewise with Heaven, would a masochist's heaven be filled with pain? Maybe.
It's up to us to decide what we believe in, and how far we follow our beliefs.

I totally agree with you... i think any religion can teach people good fundamentals to survive in society... the problem is people get so overly obsessed with it they end up doing more harm than good. Im not at all a religious person and have a very strong distaste for christan based religions, but i still make qoutes from the bible.
humanity as a whole has lost its way, our society everything has gotten so lost, and the people have become so lazy that they would rather have a book tell them how to live and what to believe than to think for themselves. I mean look at the american goverment and how many things there are set in place or trying to be set in place that can be followed back to religion... what ever happened to seperation of church and state?
