People like power. If a person lacks power, or lacked it at some point in the past, that person may want to feel powerful. The feeling of power is usually gained by hurting others. When you hurt someone (physically or emotionally), you're above them. You have power over them. This is why a lot of people that are bullied in school become bullies themselves later on, though it seems that often only happens in the internet.

Depends for me, I have my urges to violate purity if it appears before me. Then again if it continues, I'll be nothing more than a asshole.

Motorcycle clubs have a rule. It is called the 1% (per center) 99% of all motorcycle clubs are good but that 1% (Hells Angels, Warlocks etc..) evil.
I beleive no one is 100% pure or evil. Yin Yang.
I give poeple I have not met before the benefit of the doubt. They have to prove themselves as I have to prove myself to them.

To respond to this older post, I enjoy...fucking wiht my friends. Lying to my parents over quite literally nothing, i.e. "So have you been looking for anything else to do besides working at the company?" "Oh yes, everywhere I can look." And that's just to name a couple things.
But I KNOw I'm not a complete sociopath, because I feel laughter, and i love my pet dog and cat.

I used to have the desire to protect the sanctity of purity by upholding high moral values. For a moment, I stayed true to my cause by helping those in need and respect the believes of others.
However that all changed the moment I become a victim of those whom I cared (sounds cliche I know). This makes me bitter and angry that I believe I am entitled to ruin their lives in a much sadistic manner as they had done to me.
An eye for an eye....no make that both eyes. That way they are handicapped and can't do anymore harm hehe.

Hmm...I guess, might be, that the question needs some perspective. It seems I left it open-ended enough to include the spectrum of defilement.
Let's give it three situations, then.
A: Walking through the woods, you encounter a man about to rape a woman. Do you stop him? Watch? Join in? Leave, pretending you saw and heard nothing?
B: It's Christmas morn, and your nephew/niece is falling over themselves, rushing towards the tree and the gifts, while yelling "I wonder what Santa got me?!" Would you yell after them, "There is no Santa! It's your parents!"?
C: While walking through the nearby low-level dungeon, you encounter a large painting depicting a work of pure, platonic beauty. Be it a little girl clad in white, or a field of snow, or a meadow, or anything that strikes you as particularly "Beautiful". In front of it stands a vandal, armed with a knife and spraypaint. Same questions as A.

Tricky question, Im gonna have to vote for the inbetween cause sometimes you can preserve innocence by violating it yourself.
What I mean by this is that if you can treat whatever it is with care, affection and attention it wont get too fucked up thus... Its ALL good! :P
Trying to think of a good example... If you got a nice DVD set and you open it and enjoy it then its still good and pure but if you lend it to one of your friends it kinda loses its "nice" feel. (Crap example but hey~ho)
I hate to say this but it really does depend on the situation and your good judgement on whats the "Right thing to do".

So if you people are thinking on violating the purity of something then if you would see a clean river you will have an urge on polluting it? I think man was created to violate, and i think woman was created to preserve. So in the end i do beleive that it is your gender which decides your outlook on the subject whether you realize it or not. For centuries, man has longed to taint that which is pure, vergin, untouched, what have you. For instance: why are vergins so desirable in sex? Becuse they are pure and untainted. Like skiing in newlyfallen snow, much more pleasurable than icy slush. We like drinking the purest water from mountain springs rather than recycled tap water. How is it a woman preservers? Well, first of all, if you have ever had a girlfriend, man's worst enemy becomes that girl's clothing. She wont take them off. Why? To preserve her verginity. Why is lady liberty a girl? To preserve liberty. Why are there statistcly more woman vegitarians out there than men?(look it up im not citing it)All in the name of their uncouncious rudimentary desire to preserve. This constant battle between tainting and preserving creates the beautiful relationships which happen between men and woman, lust, love, betrayal, ext. Really for me such a thing is a case by case thing. It's not like, I see someone who, while knowing how bad off most of the world is, is still trying their hardest, helping others and all that, along side someone who seems just as 'pure' only they are simply staying unaware of glaring facts around them that I would do the same thing to both.
In general, if I see someone, who goes around being pure and innocent out of a lack of information, like helping people because they're sure they would do the same for them in a time of need or are giving money to the homeless sure that every single homeless person they give money to is telling the truth about what they'll spend the cash on, yea I would 'violate' that purity because that kind of innocence can be dangerous for the person involved.
However, if I see someone helping others, and I mean anyone, they could be helping Hitler back on his feet after he got pushed to the ground, but only because it's what's morally right, someone who gives their money to others not caring if they're gonna spend it on what they say they will or not, just that they need help... I'd protect that kind.
Okay true they're both as likely to be in the same kind of danger of being taken advantage of by people or ideas, but both of them, it really comes down to both of those types needing to be taken care of in very different ways... Alright my train of thought is starting to derail I'll stop typing now ^^;
