Sex Offenders

My brother had let me know in Pennsylvania that where I'm living right now in Georgia was on the front of their newspaper.
Apparently it had to do with sex offenders living in tents.
So what do you think Fakku? What should be done with sex offenders?
They can't be near churches, god disowns them now.
They can't be near school, damn pedobear
They can't be near parks, or anywhere else children are.
Whether it's work, house, etc.
Now they can't even live in tents.

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Nine sex offenders have been ordered out of a makeshift camp behind an office park and on Tuesday sought housing that conformed to state law.
The offenders, all of whom are men, had been directed to the spot by probation officers who said it was a site of last resort. Georgia law bans the state’s 16,000 sex offenders from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of schools, churches, parks and other places children gather.
“Our staff goes to great lengths to find approved locations,” said Sharmelle Brooks of the Georgia Department of Corrections. “However, the few options that meet guidelines involve costs, and many offenders don’t have money.”

Yes but do you really see it as right to have it so for the rest of their lives they're unable to function normally in society?
They can't even go to church if they're religious or even try to 'repent' for their sins.
I don't think it's right to kick someone out of jail and say 'you're free, but by the way - you're not allowed to do -anything- in society anymore'
Not all sex offenders are pedophiles.
How about the time a girl in high school bared her.. well bare ass out the window of the bus? She pleased guilty and never could become an elementary teacher because she was on the sex offender registrar
One time a guy peeing in the bushes was charged with indecent exposure and was arrested for 'public lewdness' and registered as a sex offender.
That shit stays with you the rest of your life, it ruins your life.

I think if they have really regretted it...then there's no reason to not let them function normally in society anymore. The jail should serve as enough punishment to them....so why ruin their lives anymore? So I think it's not them, but the society is fucked up. It doesn't make sense to shun them in society...ok, I understand that it's hard to trust them after what they did but....is it fair to not even allow them the chance to redeem themselves? I think it's not. What they did is bad, but so is the act of shunning them for their entire lives.

A person who murders people gets put in for life. You don't see the government taking these murderers and saying 'Okay, you can live out here, but you can't go near people. Oh and you can't be homeless either'
It's just :| is the government even thinking?

I belive in a 'second chance'. Personally I'd only restrict them if their crime was extraordinary foul, or if the crime was repeated multiple times.

@Ziggy: What I'm saying is...after their punishments are over, just let them live normally and...as Near put it, give them a second chance. It depends on what they did but, most of the sex offends really are not grave enough to be punished with a capital punishment...
But if they're can't live normally afterwards, what's the difference? Might as well just kill them right there...

I used to be for capital punishment. I saw it as a way to save income tax dollars and just give space to the people who don't deserve to die.
But Fpod mentioned something that really stuck to me in agreement. He said that murdering is against the law, and that the government should not have say in who deserves to live and who deserves to die. If it's a law they create for the general public, it's a law they should abide by too.

Sucks to be them!
They should have stuck to thinking about loli not, not carrying it out on real kids and they would be in a better situation right now?!

That's what I mean right there. Society has engraved it that all 'sex offenders' are pedophiles.

I'm against capital punishments for the same reason too. Plus, to me the law is created so that people can learn a lesson from it. And by killing the offender you ripped off him the chance to learn and fix his mistakes...
And about this sex offender thing, I never thought that we should kill them for doing such things. I just think that there's no difference between them being killed right there and them being shunned for the whole life after they're freed from jail. In one they're dead and in the other they're for some reason supposed to live in the jungle like an animal...not very human either way.
That's why I think regardless of the gravity of the crime one should be given a second chance to live a normal life once again.

Might as well just kill them right there...While I agree with the point you made in your first post, in a way, it's wildly utopian to assume that anyone even only charged with child abuse could ever hope to return to a normal life later on, even if acquitted in court.
A truly benevolent state would send the firing squad as soon as they sign the arrest warrant.

Wildly utopian....I get that a lot. But still I think that even if it just can't go back to the way it was before, they should be given a second chance. To me the society is being overly paranoid and I doubt that could help anyone.

If they're just gonna throw them out of society, then they might as well turn them into guinea pigs for new medical breakthroughs. Just saying...
