Stupidity is... cute?

Over the years (especially during high school), I'm sure you guys have noticed those girls who dumb themselves down to seem more attractive. They make themselves appear stupid, clueless, oblivious, etc. in the hopes of gaining men.

I've noticed that girls in many mangas and animes are like this, too. These girls don't TRY to be stupid, clueless, oblivious, etc., they just are. Oh wait.. but there are also those girls in manga that men seem to be attracted to which are the "book smart" ones, but not necessarily "street smart". Why can't a girl have both? Maybe it's just a japanese thing. I really have no idea. But since manga and anime is something this little community has in common, I'm wondering if you find that attractive in real girls. Personally, I'm not a klutz. I'm not oblivious. I do very well in school. I've had the occasional slow moment, but so have you. I do quite well for myself and I think having intelligence is attractive.

Did intelligence take a backseat for many women? Is it less attractive for a woman to be intelligent? Why is knowing the latest trend more important than knowing what Obama's plans are for the new health care system!? Am I wrong to think that intelligence is an attractive quality to have?

What do you think about real girls who are like this? Do you find it attractive when girls are completely oblivious or stupid? Do you only find it cute in 2D girls? Give me comments, opinions, etc.

Honestly, I would rather have a woman that is highly intelligent and pretty than the ones that pretend to be stupid or the ones that are.

It my be cute in anime or manga but it's not in real life. This doesn't count as an opinion of everyone as everyone has different tastes.

I think most men like dumb girls because they are easier to get to bed. This is one reason why I like girls in Visual Novels; they tend to be intellectual and can be so deep. Though I know that it is all scripted, the idea of an intellectual girl with a deep background somehow sets my standard for choosing a partner.

Bottom line: Stupid girls are fuck-able, but not cute at all.

Stupidity is predictable, controllable, weak, and easy to keep in line.
In a way, control of the masses.

Heh, if you have ever watched MXC or Ninja Warrior, those are prime examples. The women almost ALWAYS fail at the very beginning, and the entire time watching you can't help but notice how... pathetic maybe? They look.
Then a male comes along, and does the challenge with ease. Or at least he'll actually try.
Anime is mainly from Japan, so it kind of goes hand in hand with the culture.

I'm not being racist here, it's the same for many American themes as well.

I do not find overly dumb girls attractive... If anything it does the opposite.
Intelligence is key. Heh, else you may as well just buy something nice to stare at.

Intelligence is SMEXY. Stupidness is also a part of everyday life. But for the girls who acts stupid to try and act cute is cute but not really. I'd rather want to see them as their true self.

It depends. Personally I prefer brains over cuteness. I'll admit that I can be as bad as your typical guy, caring about looks and all that, but stupidity is always been irritating to me. The reason there are so many "clueless" girls is because it is what is popular in the media right now. The media has declared that it is a girls duty to have big breasts, act air-headed even if they are smart, dress like whores, and shun any form of intelligent thought. You can also blame the peer pressure girls in school receive to act this way.

I'd rather be with a girl who is smarter than me since it seems kind of weird to say it I like to always learn new things and kinda like to have someone to turn to when Im stumped or just plain dont know or remember what somethin is...

Yeah makes me sound stupid but meh...

Its still cute if they do something stupid or somewhat careless, like I dunno... walking into a screen door and then looking all mad then shy, see that would be cute... well at least once in a while I dont mean for them to be like "duh duh" stupid...

For me...well, I'm ok to clumsiness. The girls I hate the most are the stupid bitch type, like, who forces their opinion to others even when they're in the wrong and throws a tantrum when their opinions are rejected. Haruhi, for example.

Other types of stupidity...well, it depends. To me the willingness to learn is most important.

I like them with a brain. Morons annoy me, and stupid questions all the more. I really enjoy having intelligent conversations (read, pseudo-arguments)

The only thing I don't like that usually is a tag-along to smarts, is being too opinionated. Everyone has opinions sure, but keep them to yourselves.

I have a friend who's dumb and smart at the same time. She's very intelligent. Scored near perfects on almost all her test, straight A student and all that jazz. But she was the really ditzy type too. She's extremely gullible and tends to be a bit clumsy. It was pretty cute.

But all in all, intellegence > morons. But it doesn't mean a girl can't have both. There are a lot of smarts. As long as it's not the retarded, "omg, like totally" type, it's really not too bad.

I only date girls who can show me they have read a book once in a while.
I personally hate the "lets be stupid to be cute" fad that has happened over the years.

So far I have been hit on by 7-8 girls who fell into that category, I decided not only to turn them down but to also call them out on there little act. I hate to see girls pretend to be stupid, because it creates a bad image for younger girls to fallow and I don't want my younger sister(or children if i have one) to follow that crap.

Its annoying, and sets a bad image for other girls.

Anyways, my opinion must be pretty obvious. Looks just don't do it for me. Like mibuchiha, I don't find clumsiness to be a problem, but stupidity and easyness is something that I just can't tolerate.

Stupidity is cute to a point. If a girl does something a little airheaded, but is normally pretty smart I can find that cute. But if a girl is stupid all the time or just plain lacks common sense, then that's not cute.

It also depends on what the action deemed as 'stupid' and the subsequent reaction is. If a girl gets really mad when trying to open something and clearly misses the 'open here' marking, that can be cute (as long as that's not common). But if a girl sets the house of fire because she's too stupid to know that smoke shouldn't come from the oven, then I don't think that's cute.

It's all a matter of context for if I can find stupid actions cute or not.

I think many male members have mentioned the obvious. I would also like to point out the obvious: Anime/manga ≠ reality.

That being said, most guys look at vulnerability, not necessarily stupidity. I don't think any one of us would want a wife with shit for brains and no ability to bring home a decent income. Life doesn't work like that.

My views on female stupidity is
Stupidity is goddamn anoyying in real, any stupidity performed below the age of consent may be forgiving but not after 18, they are an adult, they should put thought in what they are doing. Girls who lack the basic common sense and creates blunders and does not realise what wrong she did, and not willing to change nor listen what people have to say and remembers it, that is anoyying, and goddamn anoyying at work.

I am a scum, I do not want to spend my time befriending people who purposely acts purposely on the basis of showing "cuteness", that makes me sick. However others who seriously lack some common sense because of their unique lifestyle, I would forgive them and teach them the right way to live so that they could increase their social skills, that is just on pity.

Conclusion? I do not find stupidity as a plus stat is a girl.
I dont see where the cuteness comes in in reallife of stupidity, rather, it is much more of a pity/fustration, the effect gets worst if they are men, that is of course biased, since im a men.

In real life and anime I find that stuff incredibly annoying.
The attraction seems to be along the same lines that blondes are attractive just because their blonde. So klutzes are attractive because you can be there to help them and they appreciate you for it. Being attracted to someone because of that just seems so pathetic it becomes irritating.

Me... hmm i don't really care if the girl is stupid. Cute things for me are usually just in the "delivery". Besides I'm more of the type to figure out people so it doesnt really matter to me.
