SWAT team kills Marine

No knock warrents are ment to be used by cops when they think the suspect will violently resist. they are often used unneccisarily, and sometimes on the wrong house. occasionaly ending with cops killing an inocent person. cops like to charge in and "control the situation" with as little warning as possible to maintain an element of surprise, which means they don't imeadietly identify them selves as poilice, wear all black(including masks), and no badges or agency names(police) displayed anywhere.

i seriously doubt they identified themselves as police, or gave Guerena a chance to say anything or even raise his weapon before they started shooting. the part about counter survelliance by someone who looked like him is a complete load made up after the fact in an attempt to justify their mistake. they probably went to the wrong address, which(i suspect) is the reason they entered the other two other houses.
i think the no knock warrants are extremely dangerous and irresponsable. something for coards to hide behind to give an excuse to play with their surrogate phaluses. an even more sinister possibility, execution orders.
who polices the police? what do you guys think of this case, and subject in general?

This happened to me and it was the most frightening moment of my life, my heart is actually pounding while typing this just remembering it. A friends girlfriend called the police and made up some BS because she was mad that he was spending to much time at my house and not with her.
And days later i had swat breaking into my house wearing all black and not knocking on the door or announcing they were police. They claim that they watched our house for days and had enough reason to get a warrant and break into our house.
I slammed the door in there face right before they got to the room i was in and there was a weapon in that room with me but after thinking for the 5 seconds i had before they entered the room i noticed the weapons they were carrying and thought there was no way they were not police so i just sat down on the floor as they charged in.
I can only imagine what would have happened if they opened the door to see me with a weapon in my hand, it could have ended like what happened to the marine. After the ordeal was over i made them go into our garage and get some nails and a hammer to fix our front door since they broke it coming into the house, which surprisingly they did fix the door, although they did a crappy job of it.
We were going to sue them for what they did and for having a very poorly put together warrant but figured it would cost more to hire a lawyer and win the case than we would get from winning, if we would of that is. I was just glad to not be charged with anything and that no one was hurt. Although what happened really messed with me and made me paranoid so now whenever i hear a car drive by my house i look out the window, i always have to see or know who is at my house.
The police have way to much power and can do too much without proper causality.

I am a huge proponent of creating an organization that "polices the police" as the current system of "the people" policing the police isn't working. The courts and laws are skewed to protect officers from liability. Though, I am unsure how effective an inquisition for corruption would really be. I man can dream though.
Seriously though, I think every officer involved should be charged with murder (or at least manslaughter) and spend some time in jail/prison then upon their release, be barred from being so much as mall security. They should also be banned from any position that would require them to be armed. Police abusing their power even in the slightest makes my blood boil and causes me to foam at the mouth like some rabid animal.
tl:dr Crucify them, literally.

Same stuff happen in county north of here.. Merced or Kadushy home, but the marine was nuts and and using a m-14 at a gas station. From what on the video,
A: Never id themselves as officers.
B. No knock warrant wasn't got or served...
C: Unless there a hostage or convert interception needed .. no masks and non mark body armor.
D. They violated rules on noncombatants since there was a kid inside not in harm from the suspect.
Even though it's a clean shoot when a person has a gun point at you and saying ' i got something for you' the whole operation was fucked from the beginning. A simple knock and ' xxxxx sheiff's, search warrant.' would of save a lot of bullshit... at least that how we trained in the mp service and california post school.

Unfortunately in most cases like this the team will either be reprimanded or given an early retirement as a form of being fired for incompetence.
Too many of these cases crop up and can be found everywhere. One stands out that ended with a SWAT team killing a 96 year old woman because they had got an anonymous tip stating there was drug dealings going down in the house.

Some places have a citizen review board that monitors what and how things are done by the police. but if you want to start one in your area, you better watch your back. i knew someone who was active in getting one started in her city. she was constantly being pulled over on bogus traffic stops, and even got parking tickets in her own driveway. cops would drive past her house in the night and shine their spot lights at her house, and blast the siren. she is lucky she was never in any kind of danger, because the cops would have never shown up to her house if she called 911.

i seriously doubt they identified themselves as police, or gave Guerena a chance to say anything or even raise his weapon before they started shooting. You got bad info there. I live in Tucson, AZ (which is where this happened) And so I know the website for the local news. And on there they have a video taken from a helmet-cam. Of one of the SWAT officers that was covering the Officers that went in.
In the video, Before they swat officers start moving towards the door of the house. They blare the Siren of the SWAT vehicle parked on the street about 20 feet at most from the front door. After that they get into position around the front door. Then an officer knocks on the door and check to see if the door was locked. Once the Officer is back in position near the door. Then if you turn the volume up ( and listen to the voices over the nearby engine running) You can clearly hear them stat "Police, Open the door." Then a few seconds later they break open the door. Then they move into the house with an officer with a shield (with "Police" Written on the front) moves in first. 6 seconds after they enter they open fire.
Here is a link to where you should be able to get to the video:

Now do I think it was right for them to open fire first , NO.
Do I think that they did evrything correctly to give Guerena time to put his weapon down and not be shoot, Yes.
The cops did everything right (Except for firing first), They Identifiyed themselves before going in. They gave Guerena time before they went into the house to be ready and surrender, but instead he points a gun at them and says "I have something for you."
Truthfully this could have turned out differently. People are going to see it there own way. Some are going to say the police were to rash in there movements and did not do things they should have. Others are going to say that the police were right in how they did things.
And you know though it makes me kinda sad to say this about my own hometown. But your talking about a Sheriff's SWAT team in a County Whose Superior court system in it found the guy that shot Congresswoman Gabrille Giffords and killed 6 people "Mentally Incompetent to stand trail".

Thanks for the link. after watching the helmet cam video, i see that they were well marked as police, but the part about Guerena raising his weapon and what he alledgedly said is still hard to believe.
one of the rules of gun safety is to never have your finger on the triger until you are firing. espescialy when moving around. if the cop who fell had his finger on the triger, he could have easily misfired. the combination of the officer tripping and misfireing could have been misunderstood by the other officers. thinking the one who fell was shot, they "returned" fire. that is what i think happened.

really, I think the whole "no-knock warrant" are just a higher ups excuse so that their officers don't have to go through the hassle of chasing a perp after they approach his house. America is slowly becoming a country of lazy slobs and are drastically losing the number of hard working men who helped build the nation into a free country.
