[Locked] We should stop discussing religion on this site.

Questions about religion on a hentia forum, I mean what’s the point, seriously guys? Its a place people don't want to come to and discuss these things. Also religious people defending religion on a porn site is so ironic and hypocritical that it’s not going to happen. So please just stick to discussing politics and leave it, simply because people who believe in religion would not defend it on a site they know is forbidden by religion and thus non religious people are free to say what they like arguing with the non religious people and thus affirming their own opinions without a fair debate.
So I think we should not bother with discussions of religion on a site where believes who know they are doing wrong, would not partake in those discussions.

Actually, I think there should be a section for people who are religious. It isn't really a meaningful debate for atheists and creationists to argue when neither of them can support their statements with cold hard facts. If a religious section isn't a good idea, then I wouldn't mind creating a religious club in the game and chat section (Unless its already been made).

1. Atheist and creationist going on a hentia porn site forum to discuss religion are basically people who have really weak arguments and cannot take it to a real expert on religion. I mean they are arguing with somebody who has spent so much time wanking they thought they might as well join the forum and then realised its actually got a lot of cool people on it.
2. I didn't say I was Christian, nor did I say the issue was with the lack of people defending I am saying you cannot have a good argument because precisely the people defending religion are at a disadvantage from their environment.
3. Its still hypocritical to get into a religious debate on a porn site.

Implying people don't get on fakku to chat. It's a community as well as a hentai site, which you seem to be overlooking. If you don't like it, then I suggest you find another site? Seems like the logical thing to do. If the arguments are so weak, then blow holes in them and shut them up. You're offering up pointless conjecture.



Explain how they are at a disadvantage? I don't see people calling each other hypocrites in these threads merely because of a separate service the site offers. Also, you're implying that those of us who wish to debate have someone to do it with in real life. I live in a bible toting town where you're screamed at if you so much as question the largest work of fiction in history.



Just because something is hypocritical in your eyes doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else. You choose to focus on the hentai portion of the site. I choose to look at the community for what it is. Normal people who share an interest and built a community on something that was just used for 10 seconds of feeling good.

I'm not agreeing with OP, but I'm seriously starting to wonder where all this influx of religious topics came from. Half of the topics on SD right now are about religion or atheism.

I have been wondering what the deal is with all the threads about discussing religion, especially since it's on a Hentai website.

Sure enough, there's more to Fakku than just porn, though that's the primary reason lurkers come here, but it gets a bit much when all you see is religion/atheism

I blame all the religious topics on Obama. I assume most people who come to Fakku are liberal, so they probably have nothing to bitch now that Bush is not in power anymore. Seriously, the amount of topics discussing and criticizing the economy, education, and civil rights are an an all-time low right now. Topics about complex and deep psychological questions have also taken a dive.

Or maybe Fakku is just getting dumber. Who knows?

Christmas is coming up. Folks are just trying to get on Santa's good list 'cause even he is making cut backs.

On the serious note: I haven't read any of the religious threads but unless people are trying to convert others, isn't discussion meant to be a point of learning. If you can learn something from people who share interest isn't that the point of SD.

I'll leave this thread here in the meanwhile if you want this to be a general message to all, but the most effective way would be to PM those who continue to make threads related to religion and ask them to tone it down.

I'm partially to blame for this, a couple of my topics have been about religion or atheism. Still though, I only made those because of the other topics I saw about religion, or god, or what have you, or perhaps a religious argument I got into in another thread caused me to make a new one.

I dunno, I don't see the PROBLEM with religious discussion in Serious Discussion, I mean...why have a Serious Discussion forum...and then get rid of one of the world's most serious topics?

To me, there are 2 major problems with the world

1. Religion
2. Government

That's not to say all religion, or al governmnet is bad, but certainly they are the leading causes of just about everything bad in the world, and ought be discussed.

It's ironic but it's not hypocritical (for me any way) I wouldn't tell any one porn is wrong and would happily admit I look at porn if I was ever asked because am a guy seriously who hasn't though I would tell some one underage they shouldn't be looking at such things. I am sort of religious and I don't feel porn is wrong I've always felt things to do with sex are more to do with being loyal to your partner (I'm a lot less religious than I used to be not sure what kind of christian I would be labeled as we were open minded and when it came to being moral it was more about personal improvement and not judging others).

You could easily say the same with politics that they are just affirming their own opinions and I imaging some political parties may look down on hentai and may be braking the law depending what they are looking at so you could say they shouldn't be on a hentai site either.



The kind that try to recruit are the types that are normally really strict they would even look at porn.

So you immediately blame all the liberals for a certain FinalBoss who has created 5+ threads on religion and all the atheistfags who seem to bandwagon with him?

You missed my point entirely, its not about going somewhere else and to suggest Fakku isn't a porn site primarily is not reasonable.
I explained why they were at a disadvantage, Porn is immodest this is a porn site. This is not a issue of taste or distaste. But most traditional religions would say people should behave modestly and I don't care what you think, but having sex for others to watch (even in cartoon form) is not modest. That is the reason why the environment puts the believer at a disadvantage.

In regards to having no one to discuss it with, there are religious forums to discuss it, so go there! See it’s not nice when people tell you to leave the forum is it?
This isn't about censorship but saving unnecessary time and effort on useless debate.

One doesn't usually talk about those in social conversations to begin with, regardless of whether or not it is the internet, not unless they are speaking with friends.

Honestly, I think the Big Three is a very stupid concept, and should be fervently ignored, but lately it does seem to be the case, more so on the internet that otherwise. Then again, with the way things are in the United States right now, people are overly sensitive in regards to a lot of things, particularly their day-to-day lives, so it is slightly more understandable now than before.

I fundamentally disagree with the OP. Yes, the religion topics here are overdone, but I think the solution isn't to ban them, it's to ignore them when they increase in quantity.

I was surprised by how many fairly religious people there are on here, but that's only a testament to Fakku's diversity.

Also it is a serious discussion, because I am discussing why the discussions themselves are flawed, not simply saying "its stupid and gets too many people excited".

Also to others I’m not trying to ban it just try to convince people not to bother with such threads but as I am arguing the discussions are flawed :)
