What do you do when someone ignores you?
0
Be it your loved one, or a family member...a friend you've known for a long time, or a friend whom you've had for a week/month, or simply "someone you know"...whatever the case is, being ignored isn't a pleasant experience.
The frustration...rage even, from saying something (important or not) to someone and getting no reply, you'll always have a reaction for it. How do you feel when it happens? How do you deal with it? What do you do to get that person to listen to you?

Normally its the old 'pardon' or 'what?' reaction, rather than just plain not noticing your existance.
I always take the stand of I repeat and if they still didnt understand then I just bail on it, if they cant make the effort to listen to my properly anounciated words then why should I waste my and their time any further.
Also it could just be that this generation simply cannot hear, what with their extremely loud rock music pounding into their skulls at every waking moment. So just try to give them patience, they ignore you because their senses are failing them.

I deal with it on a case-by-case basis.
Depending on the situation, judge your actions and work from there... sorry I can't offer more help, but the question's a bit vague.

I do not know your specific case, but when someone ignores another usually that just means they want to be left alone. Everyone needs space sometimes so if someone ignores me I just give them space until they talk again.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
Chances are I know why they are ignoring me.
I use the same tactic for each of them. And that is simply to not care.
They'll bring whatever it is back up when they feel like it. I'll deal with it then.

Well it depends for me really, how do I know if the person in question is just being plain rude? I guess it would be situational like everyone has been saying, but I was raised on the fact that you listen when people are talking to you so it usually gets to me when Im ignored.

I am usually the one who is ignoring them so I would understand if they would also ignore me. But if I was ignored by someone whom I don't really ignore, I usually feel depressed about it. I just leave it like that and I would leave him/her alone.

Initial reaction from person; "Huh?"
My response; "Fuck it."
I can't be bothered repeating myself. They don't get it the first time, their loss. Not mine.

What do you do to get that person to listen to you?The more important and loved a person is to me, the more reaction I have and the greater I feel when they ignore me. I deal with it accordingly depending on what I said/did and the importance of my message. If their ignoring me is not by purpose, I shrug it off, but if it's on purpose... it's sometimes sad when people ignore you on purpose. Usually when I sense that's the case, I go by the last-reply rule for me: I say/do it again on the same medium to that person. If he/she ignores me again, fine, thanks.

If someone ignores me i stab them in the eye!.....well not really i just move on with my business i don't have time to waste on someone being ignorant.

Find out what/if I've done something wrong to cause the certain person to ignore me, and if it turns out it's something I did I try to make up for it, but if it's not my mistake, I either don't care/notice and/or ignore them back (not indefinately, of course, depending on how close that person is to me).

Shrug. Leave.
Payback.
Nothing serious, of course. I just make the person feel sorry for having ignored me.
Their loss.

My best friend is ignoring me after knowing her for about 8 years. She finally got fed up because of some argument we got into. First I thought she was just ignoring me, but apparently she has completely shunned me out of everything, I still see her but Until she talks to me and apologizes for being immature. I shall do the same and not talk to her as I sit with some fine wine and put on a monocle.
Had the same issue with my bestie as well... sucks. But then I realized what a bitch she'd been all that time.
The best revenge is living well.

I personally believe that there is no wrong reaction to someone ignoring you. I actually do deal with being ignored quite often because of my quiet voice so what I do is just repeat what I just said. That is an example of an aggresive approach. If I'm being ignored by a friend for months like I am right now, then I try to see who is at fault. If it is me then I suck in my pride and apologize. If they are at fault, I say fuck it since I am not going to agonize and let some jerk ruin my good mood just because they don't listen. Besides there are plenty of other people I can seek out to pay attention to me so one person or group won't make a difference.

I'll admit I usually do get pretty pissy, especially when it is my dad that does it to me. Whether I have something important to say or I'm just ranting/raving about my day I expect him to listen to me. Dammit! :P
Thankfully he rarely rants to me except about work, which I do generally listen to, but there are days where I just want to go "shut the hell up."
