When do you think file sharing will be back?

Megaupload wasn't the only file sharing site. If any other site (such as Mediafire) is attacked, then maybe "file sharing" is in jeopardy. Until then, "file sharing" as a general thing is still intact.
It'll be a long while before governments, the U.S. one in particular, get their shit together and stop being complete dicks... I'm not holding my breath.

As long as people have legs, it will never be gone. We always have the trusty USB we can use and walk to another computer with to copy files. There is always a way to do what you want. You just have to look.

So do you think that the government will go after goodwill of the Salvation Army and other thrift stores for sharing old designer clothes? I should not have said that. Now I just gave them another target.
That's a poor analogy. Clothes can't be replicated instantly and easily for virtually no cost. There is only one copy of a piece of clothing. To copy that peice you would have to put in the same amount of effort as you did the original one.
To answer your question: no it doesn't follow because I can sell or gift my original DVDs but I can't copy them to duplicate ownership of that one item.
The thread title also makes the assumption that file sharing is gone so before I answer that I have to go back and see if this is true. It's not because there's still torrenting, p2p, and other file-sharing sites.

I don't know when it will be back.....
sharing doesn't cost anything and sharing is a threat to the corporations.
I find it messed up why megaupload is shut down considering megaupload was one of the most biggest online sharing site in the world.

The very nature of the internet is to distribute information; trying to prevent file sharing is like trying to prevent water from being wet. The only way they can stop file sharing is by destroying the internet (even that won't totally stop it, since they can do what Bloodygears said and copy to USB drives).
