WTF is wrong with me?

Growing up, I basically had a close addiction to video games (alot of teens do). But when i hit 18, games dont cut it anymore. Ill look at a game, think its awesome, buy it, and only play it for 2 days before I feel like doing something else. I was shocked when i found myself not interested in even trying the new Halo game, even though i consider myself a big fan. I have alot of online games on my comp, some i even have to pay monthly for, yet I would rather stream some anime or read a book. WTF is goin on...
Anyone else had this?

Oh, I feel that way too. I used to be able to play 24/7, especially if it was some marvellous RPG game. Now, I get some new games everyone says is awesome but was never able to get into it. Of course, it might be because of the schoolwork, but when I have free time I'd rather do other stuff like socializing or sleeping.
I haven't bought the new gen consoles yet, and I'm starting to wonder if I ever will.

read a book
zomg...
Seriously, though, tastes change. Just because you played video games a lot before doesn't mean that you'll still be playing them as much today or years from now. who knows, maybe when you're retired you'll be playing golf with a bunch of weirdly dressed men (I mean, can you see yourself doing that now?)
You'll be fine. Just don't be go "oh, video games/anime is for kids!" when you're older. That's annoying.

Actually it seems I replaced video games with anime. Its all fakkus fault. You ruined my life damnit. When i said read a book, im talking from a manga to anything with purpose. Actually it also started when i started college, and I realised trying to push in a couple hours of gaming into work wasnt working.

Well taste do change(I havent lost my video game addiction...i just dont have time for it...but if i do-playing RO while on forums-i game  )...but you have to realize that the reason you might not like videogames as much is because you have more important priorities(such as school or work or schoolwork xD)...but after you can just chill and all the hard shit is over...it will come back...it always comes back...
For now just get through with what you need to, then in spare time play some simple games to distract you from this world and all its bastardies...then come back to the realm of the living and work again...soon or later games might take over you again, though its not wise if you want a stable life(i dont have one...havent slept for so fucking long...and this is one and old day i get to have a break...i get another one in a month or two)...so just chill for awhile with little or no videogames...but when you have the time u need to get back to it(im a gamer...and i support the bad habit of gaming)...BECAUSE THEY ARE LIFEEEEE
*cough*

I try to stream anime more and more when I have time than pwning some noobs in DotA but my friends just get the best of me. So the end of the day its "HOLY SHITTTT" "TRIPLE KILL" time. I'm a fan of GTA: Vice City & San Andreas, hopefully my taste doesn't change when GTA: IV comes out.

Lol, nice Jacob
But really, phrozen, everyman goes through it in life, so don't sweat it man!
Idk if you want to think of it like teenage hormones, one time you want to have sex with anyone, and the next you say no because your all dry...
But hey you always come back right?

You should try playing an older game like sonic or mario. These games are quick to play so you dont need to spend hours trying to complete them. That way you will be able to fit in a game every once in a while

Ugh, Ive got the same problem o.O
I spent $500 on this one game over the course of 2 years and now I dont feel like playing it at all. But, you shouldnt blame fakku and I guess you just move on w/ life.

As for me, I still play video games. When I was younger, yeah, I used to play non stop or until my hands started cramping. But now, I still try to play at least 3-4 hours a day, or more depending on the game, but if something else comes up that captures my interest, then I would drop the game in a second.

Anyone ever relate the "glass half full" idea to you? The glass gets bigger as you get older, too. Personally I've actually INCREASED my gaming, especially since a buddy of mine introduced me to the wonderful world of modding (don't bother with the bad comments towards me about this, I get them elsewhere. FULL-UP.), so I get my games cheap ($2 for the download, then the cost of the disc). Every now and again if there's a game I really like, I'll buy the hard copy to support the guys (or if there's a special edition that's worth the dough).
But really, there is only so many times you can stomp the same turtle and kick its corpse around while grasping at stars before you start to look past it all. Just natural for certain people, I suppose.

I've noticed as I've gotten older I tend to play games less, but I still clock in about 20 hours a week at the very least.
