3.5 to 6.5 hours when playing 3DS games (3DS is 3 to 5).
6 to 10 hours for DS games (3DS is 5 to 8)."

The battery has been improved, but not by much. According to this source, it will last 3:30-6:30 hours. The one on the 3DS lasted 3-5 hours. Still, considering the fact that the screen is bigger(which most likely needs more power), it's a good thing that it last longer at least.
Thanks, to the both of you. It's not that much of an improvement, but it's nice to see some progress despite the larger screen.

I'm gonna pick one up, Bigger screen; whats the down side to this?
...AND DONT GIVE ME THAT "they just released it" crap, there is a new phone. EVERY. FREAKING. YEAR. And people camp outside stores days in advance just to get a "redesigned" phone they already own.
(i put quotes around "redesigned" for a reason)

Alright, so I'm finally upgrading to a 3DS in the upcoming week, if my budget will allow it (GTA V and renewing XBL Gold), and I wanted to hear from people who already have a 3DS (or XL) before I buy one. Anyway, should I buy a regular 3ds or go for a XL for an extra $30, or save the money to put towards Fire Emblem? I also still play a number of my DS games, so how each handheld displays them is a bit of a factor to me. I would also like to know if there are any durability issues anyone may have noticed between the two.

Also, if apply just a little searching power, you can get a second hand XL for about as much as a new 3DS that's just as new.
The larger size is worth it.

I got red one. I think 3D effect ain't so great than in first 3DS... games look pretty awesome tho. I have DOA Dimensions what you must to have if you buy 3DS/2DS. Also I have tekken prime edition and few more... Now I hadn't palyed it a while... maybe I need more games to it. 3DS is better than PSVita. Can't wait what 3DS will be like in future... maybe HD graphics and better 3D effect? We'll see. :)
